r/AIDungeon on Reddit: What is your favorite scenario to play ?
November 6, 2024 -

Hi everyone (or whoever reads that at least) I've been using AIdungeon for quite a while now, but recently started getting bored with my own scenarios after finishing 3 stories already and reaching situations that blocks at least 8 other stories until I find some inspiration in a few months.

I've tried looking around but most of the scenarios that shows on the front page are either stories of a situation, or short things that could be finished in a few entries when I'm actually looking for something that can last for more than a week (I usually play on my bed)

December 6, 2019 - I made this post in the hopes of gathering support to tell the AID team that we still want the Madness model to stay in the selection and be undeprecated. Anyone who’s ever used it knows how good it is at handling horror scenarios. It’s similarly skilled in handling adventures with odd premises.

What’s the difference between Scenarios and Worlds?
Rather than a dedicated prompt, worlds use a collection of world info to generate the beginning of the story through a combination of procedural text and specialized AI. This world info is entered over various screens in the editor, built to guide the Creator through the process. Scenarios give creators more freedom and control in terms of what can be done with them, but are also more complicated when trying to build something with the scope and complexity of Worlds.

Creating Complex Scenario Setups
Otherwise, the bottom-level scenario option functions like any other Scenario: it will create an Adventure that starts with the Prompt, with the Memory and other traits filled in with whatever is in that bottom-level Scenario. ... Note that the AI is not given anything from any Scenario except the one that starts the Adventure: if there is any information you intend the AI to have, including a Prompt or World Info, it will not have any effect on the final Adventure, unless you ensure that it’s there.

r/AIDungeon on Reddit: Recommended scenarios to play?
April 12, 2024 -

Hey all,

I tried playing with a friend an Elder Scrolls scenario and we had a blast together, but the system somewhat fell apart due to a lack of information on the AI's part. That is to say, the "plot" tickets from which the AI draws its context were not descriptive enough.

Is there a way to, say, scrape a wiki or something and feed it to the AI to create a more complete world? Otherwise, are there any ready-made scenarios, not necessarily Elder Scrolls ones, that have good lore and context put into them, either on this platform or on another? Both of us are free users btw.

r/AIDungeon on Reddit: looking for some guides for new adventurers to make scenarios
June 27, 2020 -

Hi, I'm new to AI Dungeon and I find it absolutely amazing!
After playing with some custom scenarios I wanted to try out to make one myself, but I was curious on how it works, so I got some questions, if someone would like to answer them, I would be grateful:
I haven't seen any particular tutorials, and when I did, the only thing that was said was to make a really good prompt but when it came to how the AI actually works I got nothing.
Like, one of my ideas for scenarios was to make the player able to pick between a handful of characters with their names and their abilities already in place(kinda like the vanilla placeholder that allows you to pick between classes, but I also would like to give them names).
The only one I know of is the one that lets you put a custom name for something (I.E. "${character.name} ) and I wondered what the others are and how to use them.

Howdy there. If you want to choose between different characters/stories, you should use scenario options. I'll try and make this tutorial as easy as possible, or maybe I'll make a post with screenshots if you ask. Go to create custom scenario, and type a small prompt, such as "Choose the mage you will play as." After that, make scenario options. To make scenario options, go to the bottom and click "Add a new scenario option (to build a menu like the scenarios on the home page). After clicking, you will be brought to a screen similar to creating a custom scenario, but it is instead labelled "Untitled option for (insert name of main scenario)". You can change the name to whatever you want. In the prompt of that scenario option, that's where you can type the opening prompt. When you type in things with "${...}", the only unique one is character.name , and everything else can be questions you type in yourself. "Your name is ${ character.name }, and you are a ${Are you a boy or a girl?} that took the path of necromancy. You carry a ${Wand or Staff?}, and you read through the necronomicon daily as you learn about raising the dead" When a player uses this example, they would type in their name, and then they would be prompted to type if they are a boy or girl, and if they use a wand or staff. The result they could see on the screen would be something like: "Your name is Oso, and you are a boy that took the path of necromancy. You carry a staff, and you read through the necronomicon daily as you learn about raising the dead. (insert something generated by the AI)" You can type anything you want in the brackets of ${...}. It's not limited to those questions because you could literally type in ${Peanut butter}, and leave the player confused with a screen that shows the words "Peanut butter". I hope this helps. Any questions?
