Hello I've just switched to a 16 pro and have been searching for a clear case with the camera control cover and some good protection.
Ive been looking at cases on Amazon, mostly seen from brands like ESR, Spigen, Speck, and Otterbox but reviews are mixed and I can't put my full trust on any.
What are some cases you have used and can recommend or tell someone to stay away from?

Apple’s clear case will be the best in terms of staying clear (no yellowing) but they are expensive and provide hardly any protection. ESR and Spigen have some great clear cases with camera control covers that are like 1/3 the price. They might yellow sooner than Apple’s case but they’ll protect your phone and you can get 2 replacements for the same cost as Apple’s case, at least in the US.

I’d like a nice case for my phone that doesn’t hide the color, so I’m going to get a clear case. Is the apple brand case nice or is it too bulky? I’d like a case that doesn’t make this already large phone much larger. The thing is I also want a capacitive button for the camera button rather than a cutout. Is the apple case good? Any other recs?

There seem to be many haters. I personally like mine—my only complaint is the lack of protection on the bottom edge. Two things I want to point out that are not usually mentioned:
Apple's case is of higher build quality. Most of the cheaper clear cases (ESR, Casekoo, Torras, Spigen) are constructed from two separate pieces, an edge bumper and a back plate (see photos). Apple's case is one solid, continuous piece, which is better for aesthetics and durability (my last iPhone's case started falling apart this year, see second photo).
It's $35 on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DGHH7S34). You don't have to pay $50 on Apple's website.
Not here to convince anyone to buy the case or start a debate, just wanted to share the knowledge.

I have two issues with the Apple clear cases for the 16/16P: The bottom is unprotected. The non-pro version covers the flash and diminishes light output. Spigen makes cases that address both of those concerns so it’s the brand I’d go with if I wanted a clear case for my 16/16P.

What about the minor detail that the buttons barely work as well as the open bottom. The Spigen fixes these problems.
