there's some higher-end places but I think visions does it, maybe futureshop and bestbuy at certain locations... that said I'm ordering a bunch of gear from the states (cheaper) and installing it myself. It can take a while depending on what you're doing, but it's really rewarding! if you're just doing speakers, buy the same size and do it yourself - like an hour or two and you can save the money imo, if you're just replacing speakers and running it off the deck, get some infinity reference - they have a nice low impedance (I think that's right) that works well with lower power. A lot of aftermarket speakers need an amp to truly get the sound out of them - stock decks generally run only 15rms

I was thinking of getting the Pioneer DMH-2660NEX installed in my 2016 Outlander at best buy. I have installed non-carplay stereo receivers in my other cars before but they didn't have backup cameras, steering wheel controls or handsfree systems. Is there service any good? I know I will have to pay extra to retain the steering wheel controls.

I had them install a CarPlay unit in my old car, and then when I got a new one, they swapped it out for me for the grand total of $35. They were great to deal with and the work was done professionally.

Just make sure your local Best Buy tech is good. I’ve had multiple dash cams installed and in one instance they had never worked on my type of car before (Nissan LEAF) and ended up leaving tool marks on the dash and generally just did a terrible job. When I upgraded to a newer car and has a different tech remove the dash cam, they said that installed must have been going for gold on complexity of installation. Took them two hours to remove the dash cam due to how the guy installed it.

April 21, 2025 - The car stereo specialists were quoting me around a thousand for the unit, wiring harness, and adapter kit. I got it done at Best Buy for around half that and my installer was knowledgeable, friendly, did great work and I have no complaints. ... I can’t imagine the installers being any different from everyone else at Best Buy, kids that know very little about the subject they sell products in. (Maybe I’m just seeing the worst buying home audio equipment and pc parts)

Does Best Buy no longer offer car stereo receiver installations (paid or included with stereo purchase)? I've been wanting to upgrade my old car's stereo unit and now that I'm ready to buy, I see "installation may be available, but you'll need to choose a different store location" and no location near 250 miles around me seem to offer it. For reference, I was looking to buy a Sony unit with Apple CarPlay SKU: 6480147

Most stores do not offer installation services anymore. Car installations are becoming a bygone era as most people drive cars manufactured within the last 10-15 years. Those cars routinely have CarPlay/Bluetooth already making installations an obsolete service. In the next few years, you will see BBY stop that completely.

There are still stores with bays but yeah it’s a dwindling market. My store has a bay but I think we are the only one in the area; our installers are regularly busy.

AudioSource did a fairly complex job on my 911, and I couldn't be happier. Price was fairly reasonable, and they listened to my concerns and absolutely nailed the installation. Would recommend them to anyone looking for a group of pros who know what they are doing.
