I have two friends who are over 6 foot that have no issues with their compact sedans (2022 Corolla and 2019 Impreza). Under 10k, I’d stray away from any Subarus because the majority of what you’ll find at that price will only be issues. If you’re interested in trying out sedans just to see how she fits, I’d look at the Honda Civic/Accord and Toyota Corolla/Camry. There’s a lot of good info on what model years to look for online. If she doesn’t end up liking it or just generally leans more towards SUV/Crossover, look at the Honda CRV, Toyota RAV4 or the Mazda CX5. Could also look at a Toyota Venza. r/whatcarshouldIbuy on Reddit: Best used car for teen under 10k
February 18, 2024 -
Our daughter is turning 16 and we are trying to shop for a used vehicle for her under 10k and around 100k miles. She’s very tall so maybe a midsize suv would be better? Any recommendations for or against would be great.

Classic cars for teens under 10k!
None. A classic car is a terrible choice for a teenager. A classic car is much less safe to drive for anyone, let alone an inexperienced teenager. Safety improves every year. Even a few years makes a big difference in safety. It will require more and costlier maintenance. Costs that a teenager will have a much harder time to bear, and that they possibly won't know how to do. It will also be much less reliable, especially one for under 10 K. Unless you have a dedicated spot in a garage for it, and the time, tools, money, and experience to work on it, you'll be much better off with a good modern used car. More on reddit.com

Reliable Cars Under 10K?
Look for Toyotas (avoid 2007-2013 unless they’ve had the excessive oil consumption / piston rings recall performed, check VIN history to see), 2000-2006 Toyota Highlanders are legendary reliable with most exceeding 300k miles and below $10k for the most part in this market, otherwise most older toyotas and most recent toyota models can be excellent choices, older Lexus models (LS400, LS430, GS460, GS350, RX350), older Hondas with the 4-Cylinder engine, older Buicks with the 3800 V6 engine.. the above models all last well beyond 100k miles and can typically be picked up within your budget if you’re willing to sacrifice some modern creature comforts.
