What duvet is the best for those who sleep hot?
Many of our duvets that we compared today have cotton covers, which do a good job of reducing overall heat. For Canadians who sleep extra hot or are looking for a specific cooling duvet, the Hush All Season Cooling Duvet is the best bet. This duvet has Hush Iced technology, which actively cools and reduces temperatures night after night.
Should I use a duvet cover with my duvet in Canada?
We recommend using a duvet cover with any duvet. A duvet cover is easy to install and can help extend the lifespan of your duvet. When it’s time to wash your bedding, you can remove the duvet cover and wash it with the rest of your sheets, meaning your duvet only needs to be cleaned a few times a year. Since care for a duvet is often complicated, this is a great way to avoid dealing with more hassle than you need to.
What is the best duvet for Canadian winters?
While many of the duvets in our list today perform great in the cold, the best duvet for winter is the Silk & Snow Down Alternative Duvet. This duvet has a specific fill weight option just for winter that you can choose at checkout, making it perfect for Canadians that sleep cold. Those who have more severe winters will love the way this duvet keeps them warm on colder nights.

Hello, I’m in need of a new duvet/blanket. I don’t care how much it costs as long as it’s worth it. Trying to find something that is thick and kind of heavy but has to be soft. The other issue is I run hot! I’m worried about over heating but I love being cozy under thick blankets!! I know this is a big ask! I’m looking for a queen size and prefer blankets that are naturally heavy and not weighted. Machine washable would be an amazing plus! Thank you!!!
Hey everyone.
I recently bought a new duvet cover (cotton percale) and the lightest down comforter I could find. Despite keeping the room at 64 degrees at night, I'm still hot.
What material would you guys recommend for a hot sleeper like me? Cotton insert? Something else?
If you have any specific products in mind, all I want is a king-sized insert that has loops on the corners so I can tie the insert to the drawstrings that are built into the duvet cover.
Thanks you!
UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who responded. I appreciate all the good suggestions. I ended up buying the Your Moon wool blanket. Checked all the boxes of what I was looking for: All natural materials, corner loops, lightweight will still having some heft, and very reasonably priced.
Used it last night for the for the first time and couldn't have been happoer. It was perfect.
Definitely recommend it for other hot sleepers.
