Budget: under $120, Amazon if possible, prime day is coming

Size: smaller but 10 key preferred. If “compact” style roomier especially for the arrow keys and the small delete button (backwards delete?) and the other home, end etc buttons

Mechanical or Normal: keyboard goes clicky clack, but also like not too loud, maybe under brown switches. Also normal style is okay.

Keys: not too flat but also not too deep, nor need too much pressure to hit (touch typer here, my thanks to the iconic Mavis Beacon).

OS: macOS if the alt and option keys are switched the keyboard must be programmable on macOS to switch them with the keyboard company’s software.

Wired or wireless: wireless preferred wired okay, dongles are less than ideal

Nice to have: replaceable key caps, RGB, colorful or cool keycaps/board already installed, probably only on the Mac key boards but fingerprint recognition, backlight, spill resistant

Not looking for: gaming (that is the one I’m replacing at least for programming), a million and one features, knobs, anything I have to put together

I have been searching on Amazon, but I can't find anything. I already have both the magic keyboard with and w/o a numpad, I simply got bored of them.

I am looking for a keyboard that is creamy sounding, high profile, has cool lights, and for the love of god has a command key in the correct spot. The only thing I've found have been the Keychron keyboards, but I really don't want to shell out $200 on a keyboard for Mac.

Does anyone know of any keyboards that might fit this criteria? or maybe can someone help me build one (cause i dont know where to even start).

I've been making do with the Macbook Pro keyboard for some time now, but I definitely feel like it's affecting my wrists due to being cramped up.

I've looked into Apple's keyboard with the built in numpad, but the actual keys aren't any less cramped.

Is there a solution for programmers that lets me keep the same keyboard layout without being limited to Apple keyboards?

I’m thinking HHKB v Voyager v Moonlander v Kinesis v Glove80. Trying not to advertise here but interested

Was hoping to know which is the best in the market for this.

I listed in the title the ones I’m thinking of since they’re the popular ones in the market.

I’m leaning towards happy hacking keyboard of glove 80 based on build quality and ergonomics respectively.

Any thoughts? I have a budget of 1000aud and open to other keyboards that are prebuilt

Just that, I have a 100% keyboard and never try anything else but I saw a lot of developers using 60% - 80% Keyboards and I want to try something new, do you have any recommendation?

This is mainly for those who do use them for their work since you’re more likely to want something either more comfortable or feature rich than a casual user. At work i have a mac studio and they gave me a generic windows logitech keyboard and magic mouse which i couldn’t stand so i brought in one of those old Apple Pro Keyboards and i forgot how much i like this keyboard. It’s just really comfortable to me and a lot harder to accidentally press a key compared to the magic keyboard my imac at home has. One thing im surprised apple doesn’t have is a backlit keyboard since i like to work in the dark in my office, but since there’s usb ports on the back of the keyboard i put one of these little lights on it lol.

I’m curious what non apple ones you all are using. I’d imagine touchID is what keeps a lot of people on the magic keyboard because that’s why i can’t justify replacing my keyboard at home (that, and i still want it color matched)

I have around $200 to spend and I'm considering the Keychron Q3 Pro and NuPhy Halo75. Halo is the cheaper option, for the same price as the Q3 Pro I can get the Halo with a palmrest and a set of shine-through keycaps. The Halo also comes with a better choice of switches. My main issue is that NuPhy Console is Windows only, while I'll only be using the keyboard on Mac. I know there's NuDelta but as far as I know its functionality is very limited compared to the native console app.

That being said, I'm not sure if I even care about it - I've never used any remapping software, macros and all the features that VIA provides. I know QMK/VIA is a dealbreaker for a lot of guys here but honestly, I can't even think of any usage for all that customizability. I've also considered the Field75 but since it's using a different version of Nuphy Console, I doubt there's any support for it on Mac whatsoever.

Another thing I don't care about in the slightest is modding. I want to use it out of the box, just as it is. From what I've read, NuPhy are considered better in that regard.

What do you guys think? I'm really desperate now since I've been trying to choose a keyboard for over a month now.

I'm a developer, so I'm going to use the keyboard / mouse everyday all the time.

I was going to buy a smart mouse / keyboard , but then I saw some people talking about Logictech MX keys.

What about the mouse ?

Now I'm lost, what do you recommend ?

I know it's a matter of preference , so everyone's opinion is valuable to me .

N.B: The company is gonna for it , so I'm concerned about the quality/practical aspects and maybe selling value (if I want to do so in a few years)

I code 8 hours a day 5 days a week, so the shift and ctrl keys take a bit of a bashing. Always used standard cheap keyboards but never considered a mechanical before. I use a windows keyboard on a Mac because I can’t get used to the flat Mac keyboards. Any good recommendations?

I am looking for certain features.

1. wireless but with low latancy

2. C charger so i can plug it into my laptop

3. light, compact and easy to carry around

4. with software that allows creating macros and custom button commands like opening certain apps, or even running a bash script on press or something. These are ESSENTIAL so that I can code as efficiently as possible.

5. If it has a built in clipboard history or something similar.

6. Bonus points if it looks cool, souds good af and I can put on custom keycaps.

I have a big enough budget that I'm willing to spend more if the features are good.

Hey guys I'm new to programming and was wondering what keyboard/mouse would be nice to have. I'm mostly going to code on my mac mini, and I was looking at apples mice and track pad, along with their keyboard. I was wondering if you guys have any recommendations on the mouse, and for the keyboard I was wondering if there is something better out there besides apples keyboard, (too flat for me), would a k70 be better? Any help would be appreciated!

Also is there any better alternatives out there that would work with osx? Using third party software wont bother me, but I'm looking for what you guys use, any input on what would be the best products to buy for productivity. Only looking to make mobile games/coding. I haven't been able to find recent reviews on the logitech mx mechanical mini. I'm considering apple magic keyboard, mx mechanical mini, and nuphy air 75.
