Best Light Bulbs for Every Room In Your House - Bless'er House
August 30, 2024 - Spoiler alert: These are the absolute best light bulbs that I use pretty much everywhere. The color is adjustable, they’re dimmable, and the price of around $3 per bulb is awesome. Check out this meeting room makeover we did for a local women’s shelter.

Type of lighting (warmth, hue, etc) for dining room?
Warm whites are a lot more pleasant and look close to what incandescent looked like -2700K or 3000K . Wattage won't matter because they're going be around 5 watts but make sure they're dimmable. More on reddit.com

Best lightbulbs for a softer light in dining room
I have a ceiling fan with 3 lights in my dining room. The bulbs are too bright and get too warm when on, and I can't put a dimmer switch on it. I'd like to change the bulbs to something softer and dimmer, was thinking of an uplight bulb. Any recommendations? More on hometalk.com

What is the best lighting for a dining room?
I'd suggest getting something with a fairly high CRI, it will help the colors of the food appear more realistic (assuming you serve food with nice colors). Also you want it bright but not over lit, probably 15-20FC is adequate. A warmer light CCT can be a good thing, as many people find it to be relaxing, as compared to a whiter light. Don't hang it too low and block people's view of each other, and also it can be a literal headache when cleaning the table hah. More on reddit.com

Answer: We had one with 12 candelabra bulbs. At 25 watts each, the incandescent bulbs put out a collective 300 watts of mostly heat. That was unpleasant in summer. We replaced those with LED candelabra bulbs, problem solved !

April 1, 2020 -

I have a very small dining room- it’s more like a breakfast nook, and it has a 5 bulb chandelier light above the table.

I went to Lowe’s to look at bulbs and noticed some “GE Relax led” bulbs that said they were HD on the box.

I don’t want anything too warm, yellow or bright. I don’t want “HD clarity” either. Something diffused and soft but bright enough to see to eat or while studying at the table.

For reference:
walls: very light grey.

floor tile and trim: white.

table: round and dark grey.

What wattage or type of bulb would be best?
