Hi all!
I’m going deep down the rabbit hole of upping my bedding game. I’m just now looking for a duvet cover. After researching between Linen vs Cotton, I think I’m siding with linen, but having troubles with a quality brand. Brands I see highly recommended then start deep diving into unravel bad reviews and stories. I’d say I’m looking for a quality cover with around a $300 budget but definitely flexible.
Brands I’ve looked into:
The Company Store: heard quality may be worse since accquisition
Quince: Heard some of the sheets have had issues with holes early on, but I’m looking for a cover so maybe less of a worry. Also heard about a lot of early shedding
Magic Linen: Seemingly good so far but heard they don’t get as soft after washing?
Bosker: Not a ton of info I’ve found here
If anyone has tested any of these brands or compared them I’m all ears! Also open to any other brands I haven’t looked into yet, thank you!

I buy my linen sheets and pillowcases from SoLinen on Etsy. I'm sure the duvet cover is just as nice as my sheets. I've recommended them before on this sub and I swear I'm not affiliated with the company, just a person that is really really happy with finding quality linen sheets. And it comes wrapped nicely and packaged in a cute box. And it's a small business (I presume) in Poland. They even sent a handwritten thank you card. What could be better!? Lol. No shedding, no tearing, no holes, no rips. Softer with every wash.

Long staple cotton goes by the following hidden names: Egyptian cotton. Long Staple cotton. Pima cotton. Supima cotton. If you see these terms, you have the right cotton. If you don't, you can stop looking as its shit cotton. Linen is linen. Percale is the weave that is the longest lasting. If you don't see percale, you are looking at shit weave sheets. So, if you find linen percale, you buy them. If you find any type of long staple cotton percale you buy them. Things you don't give a tinker's damn about: The store name. The brand name. The thread count on the sheet package. Cool trademarks and marketing terms like Evercool™, Silkcool™, Sussudio Sheets™ or other word that evokes a feeling of lifespan or lightness or cooling. And yes....people out there have and are using Dollar Store sheets for 10+ years. If you take the advice of linen percale or long staple cotton percale, you are using the best practice for finding the longest lasting sheets.
