What materials are the tablecloths made of?
What are the available sizes for the tablecloths?
Can the tablecloths be customized?
I have a vinyl tablecloth that has been working really well for my family with a small kid--after meals we can just wipe it down, and it also doesn't slide around as much as a cloth one. And it's keeping my table protected.
But it's a cheap one from Amazon (boo) and starting to fray and fade in spots, and I've become concerned about whatever chemicals are in it being so close to our food. Didn't really think that thru with the initial purchase.
Any recommendations for a safer, lower-waste option? I figured this sub might sympathize with me trying to just buy one vs. needing to replace it all the time.
Hello everyone! I am looking into sewing a new tablecloth. I have kids and they love making messes (whose doesn’t). I want a tablecloth that’s waterproof. I looked into oilcloth, but I would like to avoid that if at all possible. I would also like to avoid having to re-waterproof, if possible. I also want to avoid constantly replacing a cheap tablecloth.
We also have a wide table (40 inches + 4 inches on each side), so I’m looking at materials that come in wider widths.
I happened upon a material called Ottertex, and noticed people use it for outdoors, backpacks, awnings.. so on. It seems ideal for me, but how realistic would it be for my application? Has anyone here used it? Would it scratch up the table underneath?
Edit: I should also add in case there is an obvious answer, that I am extremely unskilled at sewing. I’ve probably used my machine 3 times in 4 years. And if I am overlooking any east answer, please share.
