r/S21Ultra on Reddit: Best Protective Case for S21 Ultra? Rugged & Looks Nice?
March 20, 2023 -

So after going with a nice looking and thin case from AliExpress for most of the time with this phone, I broke both my display and rear glass.

Now that I got it fixed, what would you suggest as a good protective case for this phone that will protect it the most while also not being too bulky and ugly?

All I found were either ugly or thin and don't look like they will protect the device properly, so I'd appreciate any suggestion.

I was originally looking at the minimalist translucent TORRAS one, but I've heard it's super slippery and does not offer a lot of protection. My second option would've been the Speck one, but I've heard they redesigned their formula and the "grip" is plastic now instead of rubber. Any other suggestions?

I've had/tried/used most of the mainstream cases... here is the summary: Ultra Thin - DBrabd Skin, Totalee, Pitaka. All will offer zero drop protection, only prevent scuffs and scratches Thin - Spigen Thin Fit and Ringke Air-S are by far the top 2. Drop protection is better, these don't add much bulk and feel great in the hand. I also tried the Encased Thin Armor and X-Level Guardian but did not like either of them. I have the Samsung Official Silicone Case and do not like it. Everyday Cases - Spigen Liquid Armor, Cyrill Brick, and Caseology Vault. Of these 3, the Brick (Cyrill is a sub-brand of Spigen) is an amazing case. Matte frosted back (zero grease/fingerprints) and nice grippy sides, plus you can swap out the power and volume switches for varying colors). There is also an Ornarto Shockproof case which is a copy of the Cyrill Brick. Heavy Duty - I've got the Caseology Parallax and Ringke Fusion on the way, but I'm typically not a fan of adding a ton of bulk to an already monster phone. I did grab a Dbrand Grop case but it's just too bulky for my tastes. I'm willing to part with my Samsung Silicone Case or DBrand grip if anyone is interested as well.

So I bought a cheap Caseology case for my S21 Ultra ok Amazon and I'm not sure i like it. My old Note 10 has an Ottberbox Symmetry case on it. I wanted to get the same case for my S21 Ultra but sadly they don't have the same royal blue color anymore. Anyone have any good suggestions for cases that will be the same level of protection as my old Otterbox Symmetry case. Btw I dont like bulky cases.

I know it's a little early to be deciding as there aren't a lot of options out yet. But I was wondering what case everyone is planning on getting? And if anyone has a recommendation for what I'm looking for.

I've got a lifeproof fre case on my current phone right now and it'd be great except the clear back shows a ton of scratches and dust that gets in behind it over time. Which is weird as I never take the case off and they claim it's dustproof.

My dream case would be dust proof, with a flap for the charge port. Good drop protection/bumper design and supports/allows wireless charging. If I could store one credit card sized card on it for my work id that would be amazing, we use rfid to get in and out of the plant. I'd prefer it to not be clear plastic as I work in a pretty abrasive environment and clear or shiny materials show wear really fast.

I've been looking at armor-x but I'm not sure it'll allow wireless charging with the port on the back. Lifeproof only has clear options with charge port protection. Otterboxes always fall apart on me really fast, the inner rubber seems too soft. The armadillotek seems like an interesting option i might opt for that for now.

I guess I'm just hoping someone has seen something I've missed so far. Thanks guys!

r/Smartphones on Reddit: Needing A Truly Impact/Drop Proof S21 Ultra Case
October 10, 2021 -

I'm tired of "ultra thin" phone cases that claim to offer drop protection. I got the Otterbox Defender Pro for my brand new Samsung S21 Ultra on November 26th with an Otterbox case but a couple days ago, I dropped my phone from hip height onto the road and, I think, it impacted corner first and destroyed the screen. Now I'm having to pay for a new screen but before that, I want a THICK phone case, though one with extra protection for the corners of a phone will do. However, I'm finding it impossible to find any case that advertises itself as thick. The obsession is all about thin, but thin doesn't equal better or even equal protection to a proper padded phone case. So if anyone knows what is the thickest S21 Ultra compatible phone case is, please name it for me. Price doesn't matter, the pricer, presumably, the better protection it provides. Other than those made by Intrinsically Safe, which are overpriced.

OtterBox is already a really thick case, and the S21 ultra is a very thick phone already. If there's a thicker case, you would probably not be able to use the phone properly or well with one hand. An OtterBox defender is not a thin or slim case, those would probably be more like pitaka or other aramid fiber cases. While thin might not make sense to you, I'd say that I've not dropped my current phone since my case is thin, the thin case makes my phone have more grip which allows me not to drop it, and since it doesn't add a whole lot of thickness, the phone can be held securely in the hands. When you're using thinner cases, you'll trust the case way less and rely on it less. When I used to have thick cases, I'll always drop my phone thinking it'll be fine since my case is so thick. When I use thin cases, I treat my phone with more care and never drop it. If the screen is cracked and you didn't use a screen protector I'd say it's 100% your fault and not the case man. Case is only for side and back protection. Bumpers on case would only protect screen on flat surfaces, with the phone parallel to the ground. If there's any bumps or if the phone lands on a weird angle the screen is gonna die anyways no matter how much protection you have. Screen protectors are really getting good these days. If you are scared of the screen protector being unresponsive, try getting those uv glue tempered glass ones. They're extremely responsive and I don't feel any loss of sensitivity compared to those with preapplied adhesive.

r/S21Ultra on Reddit: Any good plastic case for S21 Ultra?
January 17, 2021 -

Hi, I just upgraded from my old S10+ to an S21 Ultra and I'm looking for a good plastic case (just like the official S10+ clear cover from Samsung). Unfortunately as far as I know, Samsung doesn't make those plastic cases anymore and instead they make silicone ones (I temporarily bought Clear Cover for my S21 Ultra). This silicone case is kinda bad. The most annoying thing about this case is that it's kinda sticky (?) in a way that it's good for a better grip but it also attracts every little speck of dust or dirt so on the end of the day your phone feels like it's just dirty.

So TL;DR: I don't like the new official Clear Cover because it's made from silicone and not plastic so I'm looking for a good unofficial plastic case.

I just bought a Samsung s21 and now I'm shopping around for cases. My last phone was a galaxy s8+, I have always been an otherbox customer but had some real issues when it came to the otter box brand on my s8+. For starters I first had the defender case and a tempered glass screen protector, on the 2nd day the class came off because the case pushed it up this was probably aided by the new curved edge screen design Samsung was implementing. I later on moved to the commuter otter box case which was nice but didn't protect my screen from cracking when dropped over the next few years.

What I'm booking for in a case for my s 21 ultra is good protection from drops, something sturdy like the defender series from otter box. Also a case that doesn't render my screen protector useless or peel it up or create air bubbles underneath.
