Belt sander advice please

Anything from bosch, dewalt, metabo, milwaukee, etc would probably last you just about forever. I have no experience with Ridgid hand power tools so I cant speak to them but people do love them. Further down the line you have brands like craftsman, skill, Ryobi, Kobalt, etc. They're not terrible, despite what some would say. They're occasional homeowner use though (Although, really, ryobi is somewhere in between). HOWEVER - As someone who has sanded just part of their deck with a belt sander, rent a floor sander. Srsly. The belt sander is fine for the railings, etc. But for the floor of the deck, you'll hate yourself. I did. More on reddit.com
