Does New York have Black Friday sales?
Yes, New York has many Black Friday sales. Given the tradition of department stores using Thanksgiving Day parades to promote their holiday sales, it may be no surprise that Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is connected with Macy’s Herald Square, the largest Macy’s department store in the U.S.

My family and I will be visiting new york (from asia) for the thanksgiving holiday, and we often go to outlets whenever we're in the US for good deals on branded goods and clothes. Do you guys have any recos for good outlet malls or anything similar we can visit on black friday in the new york / new jersey area?
Also curious if the black friday deals at regular retail stores in the nyc area are enough that we don't need to go to some far off outlet mall.
Thanks in advance!
Hi there!
My experience here in Brazil during Black Friday is ordering online and refreshing apps for discount codes.
My family and I are travelling to NY during the Black Friday.
The event has always been a legend for us Brazilians. There’s a lot of expectation (almost folklore) and I wonder if it’s really that good and most importantly, if it’s still that good (I have recollections of the early 2000’s but nowadays with Instagram I don’t see people mentioning NY’s shopping spree anymore).
I also wonder if the american practices are like Brazil’s. We don’t often shop at retailers anymore. 95% of our purchases are made online.
And then I must ask you, are there good deals in physical stores during Black Friday? Can we expect long queues and people pushing each other to enter the stores?
We intend to not leave Manhattan. It’s a touristic trip after all, and we have kids.
If someone recommend buying online: how quick is the delivery usually? Can we expect the hotels to accepts receiving our packages (and then; would it be free of charge?)?
