Making a black jumpsuit formal
Ok, first of all, I love that jumpsuit! :)
If executed correctly, a jumpsuit is do-able for a formal event. All you need is some jewels, a clutch and those shoes are good! I like the gold detailing. Black pumps can work as well
As jewelry, I think this is good https://www.pinterest.com/pin/12033123981533581/ soft curls, + dainty jewelry accessories (I would pair the jumpsuit with a lariat necklace. I recently bought this one http://16ktbeauty.com/products/diamond-lariat-necklace and it goes so well with that neckline. I doubt you'll have time to buy new accessories for the event, but if you have similar pieces to these styles, I think it would work well:
-lariat
-a simple bar necklace
-chunky necklace (Kim K style, https://bijouxb.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/kim-kardashian-celine-chunky-gold-necklace-fashion-bomb-daily.jpg)
If you want to avoid necklaces, big earrings are good. Try something like these

I'm going to a fairly formal event on Saturday. I have been going to the same event for the past few years, but I really wanted to wear something different than just a dress, so I purchased this jumpsuit last week. It looks like a lovely piece, but I'm a little bit unsure of how to style it to make it look dressy enough.
I was thinking of wearing either these or a pair of plain black pumps.
Basically I want some advice on what kind of jewelry I should look at to make sure that I look dressy enough without it looking stupid, so any advice is welcome.
Also if anyone has ideas for hair and makeup that would be swell too.

That being said, if it is a formal event, I would be hesitant about wearing a jumpsuit (imo). Still, if you're going to wear it I would suggest a streamlined look, with the black pumps, a formal clutch, and classy earrings, like this. Pair with a smokey eye + nude lip.
