I am only looking at a small runs maybe 2 or 3 sets of business cards, menus for cafes and pubs that change often and a few thousand mail outs a month, But I will buy a printer that will handle more if I do get busy. I have also just ordered a Ricoh SG7100DN sublimation printer for the same reason. My old boss had an Oki printer and we made all our own stationary with it and it worked out very well for him. ... Looking for a paper cutter that can do various card sizes
If you can find all that for $500-share the link. I’d take a dozen for that price. Try and buy old printing machinery from a shop that may be closing? They may give you a deal… but as to the latest greatest technology-that’s going to be costly. Get a guillotine cutter + extra blades. I change the blade every 3-4 weeks on our Polar 78 cutter. (Find a blade sharpening service to sharpen your dull blades) I’d consider leasing a higher end machine from a digital press company (we run 2 Xerox Versant 180s currently-among other things). I recommend to get a service contract with them as well so that you are supplied with service when the machine is down-as well as toner refills and drum replacements. Supplies aren’t cheap for printing at home. Almost everyone who calls and doesn’t like the quote they are given for copies/prints hasn’t walked down the ink isle at Walmart lately. After they go buy several toner containers-they call us back and realize it’s cheaper and quicker to print on a commercial production machine than your inkjet printer. Look for a scorer/cutter/creased-I saw one a t a trade show a few years ago. I think this would work for what you are looking for. Feed 12” x 18” press sheets. It cuts (closer to a diecut) and the Bursts after. I agree with the above poster tho-the initial investment will likely be far greater than $500.- that is a toner purchase for a week or two for us. Truly-Good luck finding what you’re looking for. Outsourcing may be the way to go u til you can purchase what you’re looking for. More on reddit.com
