So I’m trying to change my password for my Apple ID on my IPhone 14.
I go into settings, click on my Apple account, and hit Security & Sign In. Then under security I hit Change password.
The Face ID pops up and gives me the check mark.
Then that’s it…nothing happens. What am I missing?
EDIT: I got it working, turns out I had to reset my Face ID and redo it.

The ONLY way to remove activation lock from a device without knowing the passcode or the appleid credentials is providing Apple with proof of purchase. There is by design no other way. For those who still have living elderly relatives and stumble upon this post: keep track of your relatives’ passwords and passcodes. You will be able to help them when they forget it and you will have access to the device when they pass. At the bare minimum activate both legacy and recovery contact. More on reddit.com

It's not to reset your password immediately. It's to reset your password sooner. If you don't know your old passcode and/or you don't have access to get an SMS or call on the trusted number, AND you no longer have access to a trusted device (your iPad), then you have to go through account recovery. So provide as much info as you can, check iforgot.apple.com after 24 hours, and that will then tell you how long you need to wait to reset your password. More on reddit.com
