Why would you be using a debit card to pay your credit card balance? You could just do a bank transfer to pay or use the bill pay feature. Both will directly debit the funds from your account like a debit card would. More on reddit.com

What do they accept? Will they still take a bill pay from your bank? ACH? Personal check? I have a new Cap1 card and have only paid it through my bank's automated bill pay service so far. I haven't heard of anyone NOT accepting debit cards, this is kind of crap. More on reddit.com

A note on customer service; I have never had any Capital One products but my wife did… after she passed away, I contacted them to advise and asked what they required for proof to close the accounts. The rep expressed kind sentiments and said, we’ll close the account and mark as deceased.You will not receive any demands for payment. The next month, I received a statement with zero balance and closed. Other financial institutions / credit card companies required a death certificate and wanted to hold me responsible for whatever the balance was on the existing accounts at time of death.
