I’m at my wits end. Facebook has me in a loop saying I need to reset only in the accounts center. I when I go there, on mobile and on desktop, and receive the code, enter it, prompted to enter in a new password then a screen stating “something went wrong” pops up. Please help 🫠 I’m at a total loss.

To start of, yes I've read similar stories for a solution, but mine is different, hear me out.

So I've forgotten my Facebook password. I can still acces my account on my phone and I've tried to work out things from there but nothing works.

Tried to find the password in my iPhone passwords and Google passwords, but these are just the old ones. No luck in that one.

I've tried to login with the "forgot password button" but that directs me to a screen asking for my password again! (see image) Which I obviously don't know. No emails, no text messages. Nothing. Both on my phone and computer.

Tried the option of entering an old password. But that just get's me back to the same log in screen with my name and the request for my current password. (see image) WHICH I DON'T KNOW XD.

I've even tried the option in which they ask me to send a copy of my ID. Which I'm am willing to do. But when I try to enter that page, I get a screen of a blue thumbs up in a bandage saying the page is not working. This has been going on for weeks!

What options are left for me? Could somebody please help me out?

UPDATE April 17 2025:
YES, I have solved to problem a long time ago by basically proving Meta I was actually me by sending them copies of my ID Cart. At the time of posting this, this post got a lot of reads, but nobody helped me. I figured it out on my own.

Now I get a desperate Facebook user in my inbox every other week asking me to help them. No. Even if I wanted to, I wouldn't know how. Meta keeps changing up everything on a weekly basis it seems. Figure it out yourself! You won't find the answer here, nor will you find it in the comments or by sending me private messages.
