If you were a cardholder of the Capital One Costco Mastercard, there’s no need to worry. Essentially, all eligible Capital One Costco cards should have been transferred to the new CIBC Costco Mastercard. Your CIBC card should have arrived before August 31, 2022.
Once your new CIBC card is activated, you (and any authorized users) will no longer be able to use the Capital One Costco Mastercard. All of your previous card details (like card number and PIN) will remain the same, as does your credit limit.

I was wondering why people use their cibc costco card to pay at the costco as the reward rate is just 1% in their store. For the gas it is a no brainer as you get 3% reward but only 1% in their store. Some mastercard card offer more than 1% reward

I don’t have another Mastercard. The only credit card type Costco takes is Mastercard. So for me, it’s debit or my Costco card. Yes I know I could get another card. I am happy with my number of credit cards as too many gets unwieldy. I’d rather get 1% back than nothing.
