Been using the $100 Claude Code plan for 2 months. The default /model (Opus for 20% of usage, then Sonnet 4) was meh. Opus burned out in 15 mins on basic tasks, like driving a Ferrari to grab the mail. The new "Opus Plan Mode" is a game-changer! Worked 8 hours today, never hit the Opus limit. Opus handles the big thinking, Sonnet cranks through the work. I push back on plans until they're spot-on, and I 1 shot complex tasks all day. I skip heavy configs since Claude Code updates often as I'm here to get stuff done fast, not master it. If you haven't tried Opus Plan Mode, you're missing out!
Bring back "opusplan", why did you remove it in v2.0.0?
They finally automated the Opus planning + Sonnet execution combo

New mode lets Opus handle planning while Sonnet executes the work. Basically automates what everyone was already doing manually. Super useful!
I've just recently tried using the new plan mode and holy hell this is amazing! Previously, before plan mode iwould ask claude code to create a PLAN_TASK_X.md to plan how we are going to implement task X, now i just shift+tab to switch to plan mode, come up with a plan together, once im happy with the plan i just shift+tab to go edit or auto mode and instruct it to execute the plan.
I am finding this very effective and really streamlines my workflow now.
one request is i hope that once you confirm that you ar ehappy with the plan is that it auto switches to edit mode to execute the plan.
