[Q] Use confidence intervals to determine sample size?
The width of your confidence intervals is dependent on the standard deviation of your sample, not its mean. If you assume some value for the standard devation, you can compute the width of your target confidence interval using the t distribution. Solve for n to get your target width. More on reddit.com
