When I went back there after over a decade, I was pleased to see they still had a poultry and pistachio terrine on the menu – and I still loved it.
I would focus more on cuisines which are not commonly found outside of the Netherlands (besides the origin country). So add some Surinam and Indonesian food to the list. If you go for the famous stroopwafel buy them on a regular street market. A big one should ben 3 euro max. Also a herring is mandatory ofc. Be warned, they are aimed at those who are impressed by 160 seater restaurants with swirling carpets, gold taps and caviar (The Siren) or people who get Instagram-excited about the idea of sipping a Wagyu Negroni – yes beef fat and gin – under a canopy of fake plants and the odd caged parrot (Secret Garden).

This Dutch apple tart/pie was loaded with fresh apple slices and was not overly sweet. It was interesting having Dutch apple pie for breakfast vs. dessert. But, we were off to a great start. The restaurant is beautiful and historic.

There are actually two locations to choose from (both in the Jordaan), which is good because it’s very popular and gets very busy. Pluk is a shop and a restaurant, so it looks very pretty while also serving delicious food.
