I think with situations like this, they're usually handled on a case by case basis, so there's no real way to know without contacting the department. I had a C in 1920 and C- in 2940, but was at or above median in all the other required classes, and I ended up having to retake 2940 to affiliate.

Hi everyone,
It was only recently until I realized there is computer science for both College of Engineering and Arts and Science. As a student who hates subjects like history and english, and more of a STEM guy (math, chem, comp sci etc), does it make more sense to apply for the College of Engineering in my application? How will my courses be different if I choose CAS, and are there like different requirements for choosing either one? I just would like a clear answer distinguishing these two different colleges for the same major, so I know for sure which one to apply for if I want to major in computer science.

In CoE you still need to take 6 liberal studies courses although you can choose to avoid history or any of the more writing intensive classes. In CoE you'll be required to take math, chemistry, and physics and in CAS the only main thing I know is you need to take a foreign language. https://www.engineering.cornell.edu/students/undergraduate-students/curriculum/undergraduate-requirements ^ CoE Requirements. Can probably find something similar to CAS if you google. In general though, from what I've heard, the CS major requirements though are the same for both colleges. Can probably find more answers to this if you search this reddit. This is a popular question.
