r/Costco on Reddit: Hate the partnership with Shutterfly
October 29, 2025 -

As I gear up for ordering holiday cards this year, I have to say how much I loath the Costco partnership with Shutterfly and miss the Photo Services offered through Costco. It was truly one of the things that made our membership more valuable for us, and you simply could not get a better deal for like 50-60 holiday cards for under $20. It's straight up a dollar a card at Shutterfly, I hate it.

November 17, 2023 - Nothing earth shattering but pretty ... basic cards you could get from the old Costco photo center. Continue this thread Continue this thread ... Check out Vistaprint. November 20, 2023 - They currently have 50% off holiday cards ... We have done Staples for several years. There is often a Groupon that makes it super cheap. We have been happy with the quality. ... I ordered from Shutterfly because I really wanted to stick to a budget this year and the best deal I could find for under 100 cards (I needed 70 cards) was the Costco Member offer of $1 “standard” card stock card and free shipping (Shutterfly’s shipping is a $$$$$ so the free shipping over $49 is a great deal since you can no longer stack coupons on Shutterfly’s website) and I didn’t want to spend the extra $30 or so for the upgraded “signature smooth” cardstock and now I am worried the quality is going to stink.

r/Costco on Reddit: Shutterfly Holiday Cards Print Quality is Hot Garbage
November 24, 2023 -

I’m so bummed. Did my cards early. I knew I had to go through Shutterfly this year and while I’d heard they’re not as good as Costco, I did not expect a literal blurry waste. I love sending a card and filling my home with the cards I receive. I don’t like to spend a ton on them but still expect the quality to be decent. Costco should really rethink this partnership.

r/Costco on Reddit: Shutterfly Photo Books through Costco
November 17, 2025 -

Does anyone know if Shutterfly promotions apply on top of the Costco "discount"? Shutterfly currently has a 40% off coupon code for photobooks with unlimited added pages (HUGE for me), but I would hate to spend all of that time creating a giant book just to learn at the end that it doesn't apply if you're getting the Costco "discount." I'm trying to know if I need to set up a burner Shutterfly account, or just use a different service this year if I'm going to end up paying full price anyway. Thanks!
