I have had the Jabra Enhance Pro 20s for about 4 weeks now. I have the ITC option. Prior to this I wore costcos resound BTE option from 6 years ago. Not sure on the model. The resounds were great. I've worn hearing aids my whole life and the resound made me appreciate costcos option vs the audiologists I grew up with.
When I went last month for new hearing aids I wanted to try the Phillips after reading reviews here. The fitters convinced me to stay with Jabra since I had a good history with resounds. Y'all I hate these enhance pro 20's idk if it's me or the swap to ITC aids but I'm always getting feedback and ghost humming especially in small spaces like my car. Restaurants are just impossible now. I have played with app settings to turn down noise canceling or wind canceling and turn it up. I can't seem to fix the artificial sounds and humming. I guess I'm wondering if anyone else came across this. My fitter didn't have a ton of expirence but we got them sounding ok. I started off hating the high end and have been giving them a chance for the last month to see if my brain can adjust but it's just not going well. Anyone else have similar expirences with the Jabra enhance 20's? I'm not sure if settings can fix my issues or if I should return and try the Phillips I originally wanted.
I have profound hearing since birth and have had a difficult time with hearing aids since I started wearing them at 27 yrs old. I was previously wearing signias and they werent perfect but my main issue is I want to hear speech clearly. Signias did ok for a few years and now i just got the costco jabras. They are terrible. I hear all the environmental noises, but speech depending where its coming from is incomprehensible. Its never clear in any direction and I am constantly asking people to repeat themselves. I have two settings- hear in noise, and all around. How do i adjust the settings to hear speech better? I am not techy at all and this makes me feel so unbalanced and out of my element in public.
Picked up my new hearing aids today from Costco! Here's a quick summary of my experience:
Costco was pretty seamless. Called to make an appointment, then went in and had a standard audiology exam. I wasn't able to order the hearing aids that day because they needed my doctor to sign off first, but that won't be the case for most people (I've had surgeries on the ear and audiologists always double check with me). Came back a few days later and ordered the hearing aids, about a week and half later I came back for the fitting and they helped me link it up to my phone, and I walked out wearing them!
Jabra Enhance Pro 30s have seemed really good so far, I've only been wearing them for about half a day now, but I'm impressed. I have profound hearing loss in my left ear and moderate loss on my right ear. Very impressed with the performance so far.
I read a lot of threads before going for these, so happy to answer any questions people have.
