Hey all, looking to get into playing the piano and costco has a Roland Nuvola piano for $599 at my location. Havent been able to find many reviews over this piano but its seems like it could be a good deal. What do you guys think?

EDIT: Finally got the piano! It sounds well and the build seems sturdy. Thanks for your input and helping me make a decision. Any tips for beginners? Hoping to learn the keys in a decent amount of time, not my first time playing/reading music(Clarinet was my first) so hopefully learning to read piano wont take so long Link to photo

This is one of the best deals for the money. Edit to add: this keyboard appears to be a hybrid of the FP-10x and FP-30X and shares the same action as the FP-60X at a fraction of the price. I started with an FP-10x and it was a great keyboard. The speakers were mediocre and the number of sounds limited, but you could always use it to drive an amp and a laptop. I was always using the default piano, anyway. I upgraded to an FP-90x, but tbh it isn't as much better as the price would lead you to believe (4x as much). I have since upgraded to a refurbished Yamaha UX at my piano teacher's urging. She said she could notice a difference in my touch after only a few weeks. I still use the 90x for fun stuff, but almost everything I do is on the real piano now.

I just got Costco’s new Roland RFP-Nuvola bundle. It does seem like a variation of the FP-30X, with subtle cosmetic variations and small internal differences e.g. a slightly different song/sound list and upgraded Bluetooth (v5.0). I recommend comparing the user manuals on Roland’s website to see the details.

I think the stand and pedal bar look great! Note that the bundle’s bench does not have storage.

Wish me luck — starting lessons this week!

I’m so tempted to buy this as my first piano! As far as I could tell from the user manual, it uses less power than the fp-30x so it might have different speakers. Lmk how you enjoy it!

There's a Yamaha special event at Sterling, VA store from July 11-20th according to Costco website. Anyone seeing which models are sold and remembering what are the general price range there? I called the warehouse staff but they said they knew nothing. It's quite a drive from where I live so I don't want to drive to the store and return with disappointment

I didn’t pay attention to the other models, but I took this photo on March 28, 2025 at Henderson, NV (St. Rose Pkwy) Costco. The reason I took a photo is that I have this model (albeit in a satin finish) purchased new from a local piano dealer in 2022. My out the door price three years ago from that dealer—tax and delivery—was $24,700. This is probably still a good price for 2025 though.

We got the Roland FRP-1 electronic piano package from Costco last November (pre Black Friday deal for $550). The keyboard itself is the Roland FP-10 which was well recommended on WireCutter. We’ve been extremely happy with it. Great sound and realistic keyboard feel, very compact. I have no idea if any Costco stores still have any in stock. I saw our local store had the display model on sale for $450 in December. If you are learning piano and this is a good price point for you, I’d recommend it. Our daughter is learning piano and she loves it. IMO it’s best to learn on a piano that feels and sounds close to the real thing.
