So I thought I'd make crystallized obsidian armor so I can save the trouble of having to get netherite and I'm just now realizing that the chest piece alone breaks twice as fast as Golden armor. Am I missing something, or is this armor just super fragile and I made a horrible mistake?
How do i turn down the strength of Crystalized Obsidian Armor in the Cyclic mod. I have tried going into config but it isnt working pls help.

Im using the cyclic mod and i wanna make crystallized obsidian but i dont know how to and i cant find any videos that tell me. I know i need a solidification and melting chamber but idk how to power them
So, I have noticed tools have been getting really stale, being capped at diamonds; not having anything above that has been boring for this long, it would be great to see a new type of material added for tools and armor. The most common recommendation for a new set of armor has been obsidian, and if I were to add it, I would make the wearer be resistant to blast damage; in vane to how obsidian works in game, BUT diamond tools would receive a buff to players wearing obsidian armor, adding up to the amount of attack diamond tools do normally. Also, a full set would have the same protection as diamond armor. It is a straight buff to diamond; unless you are playing against mobs with diamond tools, so you wouldn't want to use it in PVP if your opponent has diamond, but in singleplayer it should be fine to use.

Does anyone know how to make this thing work?
I've got it placed over a lava source and it'll melt single items but it won't do the more complex recipes like for crystalized obsidian.
Is this because the heat level isn't high enough? Currently, for my melter, its heat is at 2 and I don't know how to increase it beyond that.
Please help :(
edit: I actually figured out that the blocks were in the wrong spots.
it actually needed to be:

Melter melting single acacia logs properly
Melter not melting the materials into crystalized obsidian
How do I find or craft Obsidian Armor from the Aether mod? It's the only set I have left to find from there and I can't figure out how to craft it or where it's found.
