what does not secure mean on websites?

Yeah, in the vast majority of cases it's harmless. It's only if someone's intercepting your signal and you do something like input a credit card number that you have anything to worry about - the first being rare, and the second being within your control.

The risk hasn't really changed in the past 10 years, it's just that SSL certs are now more available so browsers are pushing for https everywhere. Which is usually a good thing, but many sites don't need it and in some cases it makes more sense to not have https (like for a game where performance is important).

So as long as you're not sharing important information on an unsecured connection it's not something you really need to worry about.

How do I disable Secure Boot? (No, I don't mean the Bootloader)
I recently upgraded to the latest build of 5.1, am rooted, and had an issue with unlocking/decrypting when trying to re-root. I changed my pattern unlock to a password, went back into twrp to root, then changed back to a pattern unlock. I don't know of a way to permanently decrypt, but changing to a password allowed twrp to initiate a root. I hope that helps. More on reddit.com
