The Dell OptiPlex 7050 is a series of business-oriented desktop computers available in multiple form factors: Tower, Small Form Factor (SFF), and Micro. These systems are designed for performance, security, and space efficiency in professional and home office environments.
The OptiPlex 7050 supports both 6th and 7th generation Intel Core processors. Models with 6th generation Intel Core i5-6500 or i5-6500T processors are available, offering a base clock speed of 3.2 GHz and up to 4 cores. Higher-end models feature 7th generation Intel Core i5-7500 or i5-7500T processors with a base clock speed of 3.4 GHz or 2.7 GHz, respectively. The 7th generation processors support Intel vPro technology for enhanced remote management and security.
Memory configurations vary, with options ranging from 8 GB to 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, expandable up to 64 GB on Tower and SFF models and up to 32 GB on the Micro model. Storage options include SSDs ranging from 128 GB to 1 TB, with support for both SATA and PCIe M.2 SSDs. Some models include a DVD-RW optical drive, while others are available without one.
Graphics capabilities are integrated, with Intel HD Graphics 530 (6th gen) or Intel HD Graphics 630 (7th gen) included in most configurations. These support up to 4K resolution output, with display ports including HDMI, DisplayPort, and VGA.
Networking features include integrated 10/100/1000 Ethernet and optional Wi-Fi 802.11ac with Bluetooth 4.2 or 5.0, depending on the model. The Micro and SFF models have 6 USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, including one USB Type-C, while the Tower model offers more ports, including USB 2.0 and serial ports.
Security features include TPM 1.2 or 2.0, BitLocker encryption, chassis lock slots, and support for Intel vPro technology for out-of-band management. The systems are ENERGY STAR 6.1 qualified and EPEAT Registered, meeting various environmental standards.
Operating systems include Windows 10 Pro and Windows 11 Pro, with some models being Windows 11 Ready and others not. The OptiPlex 7050 is available in refurbished or renewed conditions from retailers such as Amazon, Staples, and Refurb.io, with prices ranging from CAD $129 to $359 depending on configuration and condition.
The form factor significantly affects dimensions and weight: the Micro model measures 7.2 x 7 x 1.4 inches and weighs approximately 2.58 lbs, while the SFF model is 11.4 x 3.7 x 11.5 inches and weighs 11.31 lbs. The Tower model is larger, measuring 13.8 x 6.1 x 10.8 inches.
