I have purchased all my computers from the Dell Outlet for the last 6-7 years, starting with a Latitude 7280 in 2017. My experience is somewhat limited, because I use Latitude 7000-series exclusively, and both model lines are known for high quality. I also purchase "Like New Refurbished" with the full 3-year onsite warranty. The Outlet allows me to buy high-end ($2000-2500) Latitudes at reasonable prices ($1000-1500). I have had a good experience with the half dozen Latitudes I've bought from the Outlet. I am looking to pick up a 16" Dell Pro Premium this fall, and I will lbe using the Outlet. I wonder if the complaints are about "Dell Refurbished", a Dell Financial Outlet that sells used 3-5 year old off-lease corporate computers. Just got an Alienware m15 R5 with Ryzen 7 5800H with RTX 3070, 512GB storage and 16GB RAM. For 1300$ it was a steal and I decided to give it a shot after reading the comments here. I got purchased it to replace my aged MacBook air 2015. I'm a Software Engineer so I needed a good GPU and CPU for ML/AI (and gaming ofc) . I was fed up with Apples walled garden (anyone who has tried flashing Linux on a MacBook with tell you how painful it is with all the properiatery drivers. Fucking broadcom wifi chips.) I ordered it on June 28 2022 with 50$ extra for 2nd day shipping. My old laptop stopped working within 30 mins of placing my order. I got in touch with the guys over at Dell and explained my situation to them. They prioritized my delivery and it's here within 2 days. June 30th 2022. It came in dell box without the original case (expected) the power brick and wire came in cheap looking plastic wrap so I was a bit nervous. I booted the laptop and the screen had a smudge on it, at first I thought they were dead pixels but I scratched the smudge with my nail and it came right off no damage to the screen (my guess is it was something stuck to the Styrofoam that was placed between the keyboard and the screen.) The touch pad was disabled when it shipped so that had to be enabled. No scratches or blemishes (apart from the one mentioned) so far so good. In retrospect I should've ordered it through a sales rep to get 2% discount and also applied some coupons. DO THIS IF YOU'RE CONSIDERING A PURCHASE. I will update this when I install a couple of games and do some battery testing and GPU/CPU testing. I thought my Amex blue chip everyday Dell cash back offer will apply to this purchase. I found out that it doesn't apply to refurbished items after speaking to Dell but the guy was so nice he gave me 60$ off my purchase (will be applied within 8 days, I will update this with results) Honestly, my experience working with Dell was so great thus far that I will totally recommend everyone I know to buy directly from Dell and bypass Vendors like Best Buy or Amazon.
