I completely agree. What's more annoying, is that Stanley Black & Decker did make a 20v one, just not yellow. I had to get the red Dewalt, since it was the only option, model number is MCM401. It works great, uses the same 1/4" collet and wrenches as the DCG426, it's variable speed brushless and most important, it uses Dewalt 20v batteries. More on reddit.com

Yes, it exists. I've been waiting to get specs/pics of it before doing a formal post on it. It will be the DCG400, available bare or kitted with 2x2Ah batteries. It's described as a right angle die grinder/polisher, so it's possible it's more like a yellow version of the MAC MCM401. Someone else on here also said it was based off the DCS438 cutoff tool. So who knows. As soon as I get some firm info, it will be on here. More on reddit.com

I saw the 2 pk of Dewalt 4.5" grinders somewhere for just over $100 with the paddle switches. Good tools & great marketing! ... I was looking specifically for the "rat tail" version of a grinder since, for me, it feels about the most maneuverable though the length is certainly greater than many other right angle grinders.

December 24, 2023 - With Dewalt releasing the band file and small wheel cutoff tool, it's looking more promising that they will come out with a mini right angle for grinder. Maybe they'll even release a small disc sander like the mcm401. Now that they have some metal working tools, let's hope they sell well enough that they make more. Their cutoff tool/ band file platform would be the perfect starting point for a right angle die grinder.
