I only recently started ordering international packages to Canada and I noticed that I've got a tracking number that works on the DHL site but not the Canada Post one.
As of 23 July I have this notification from DHL:
The shipment will be transported to the destination country/destination area and, from there, handed over to the delivery organization. (Homepage / online shipment tracking: http://www.canadapost.ca/cpo/mc/default.jsf?LOCALE=en)
But if I check the same tracking number on Canada Post I get:
We didn’t find an item associated with this number. Find out why. You can also edit this number.
Does anybody know why I can't track it in Canada? Is it still in transit between countries?

Dhl is a totally separate form of transportation from Canada post, Canada post shouldn’t touch your package at all if it is a dhl parcel, that’s why it doesn’t work with Canada post tracking, just sign up for text or email notifications for your package on the tracking page on the dhl website.

Who is they? The app or website you ordered it from? It probably is just a default thing for any packages going to Canada. I’ve had that happen on certain apps.

I had a parcel ship from Texas via dhl and I had a d tracking number they attempted delivery and a few days later I got a slip for it at Canada post and they charged me 15 bucks to pick it up.
Makes no sense.

It’s very common for Canada Post to deliver DHL packages and the $15 is probably a customs or handling fee it will show as a COD amount on the package also very common on DHL packages handled by Canada Post

Canada Post is the "last mile" deliverer for a lot of shippers, especially in remote areas where private companies don't cover.
