I also took a look at the Dyson Ball Animal 3+. I didn't really like it.

It's got crazy good suction, but that's really the only thing I liked about it. It would even fall backward on it's own after being put away. The whole thing was just awkward and clunky. I don't recommend it.
As title indicates, I am in the market to just buy one really good vacuum, but these new cordless models from Dyson seem to be do all win all. I was all set to buy the Dyson Ball Animal 3 until I started to see these reviews for the even more expensive Cordless V15 type models. However, I already own a Roomba robot vac so only want a good manual vacuum cleaner for those times where I really need to do deep cleaning. Being lightweight and quick/easy is not as important as being the best at picking up dirt. Can anyone confirm that the Dyson Ball Animal 3 should excel at that! Thanks for any help!
Hello everyone,
Gf and I are going to be getting a new vacuum within the next 2-4 weeks.
Her friend has raved about the Dyson Ball Animal 3 which puts our budget in the $400-$600 range depending on which version we go for which would be a huge upgrade to what I currently use, a Hoover TaskVac. Still, I wanted to see what else is out there and if there are any obvious better choices which I’m unaware of. I’ve looked through some of the resources but haven’t really pinpointed any specific vacuum without there being too much technical info that I’m not familiar with.
We have pets, shedding is a reality, and the need for great suction on hardwood and carpet. Would love something easy to use, great filtration for allergies and dust. Weight isn’t an issue but maneuverability would be great which is what her friend mentioned because of the “ball” and it picking up so much her previous vacuum never pickets up.
So, open question to everyone here. What would you get, have gotten, to use in that price range for home use? What have been your favorite features and least favorite features?
