Comments going back and forth when the real win here is COSTCO. majority of the negative Dyson comments are on longevity. Me personally my two Dysons are rock solid. However, Costco’s lifetime return nullify that risk, just keep the box/receipt and you should be good to go. More on reddit.com

It basically boils down to how much you want to pay for what you get. Costco's version has 10 accessories. The purple filter is actually still a HEPA filter based on US regulations and in most other areas of the world (filters down to 0.3 microns). It's no worse than other HEPA filters found here in the US. (Dyson doesn't advertise this as HEPA anymore because it's no longer HEPA-compliant in the EU.) Another consideration with Costco is that they have an excellent return policy. I've read people have returned/exchanged their Dyson at Costco many months later rather than going through Dyson's support. Dyson's version has 5 accessories if you count the built-in crevice tool. Only the blue filter is advertised as HEPA because it is compliant in the EU (filters down to 0.1 microns). Otherwise, the machine itself is the same...just different colors. Both Costco and Dyson have the new/brigher "Fluffy Optic". Also, if you get the Costco or Amazon version, but still want the blue filter ($30) and/or quick-clean wand ($40)...they can be purchased from Dyson's site whenever they are in stock.
