I'm building a small hobbyist workshop from home and I'm starting to buy basic tools, prices a generally lower at Princess Auto than, say, Home Depot, but I feel like I've heard a lot of bad things about Princess Auto. Even on their website you have a number of bad product reviews, mentioning imprecise tool or cheap and short-lasting.

I'm mostly looking for really basic things like clamps, magnets, files etc. but I hate buying things that don't last or a imprecise. I prefer spending more if it means my tools are gonna last and do a decent job, even if it's just for a hobby. But obviously I wouldn't mind saving some money if quality isn't too compromised.

Thoughts or bad experiences?
