List of words which every English-speaking adult should know
Do you want the average adult, or adults on average? I think you'd get different vocabulary sizes, and certainly non overlapping ones. When I test myself at testyourvocab.com I score just over 30000 words in my vocabulary, which puts me close to the 80th percentile. It looks like most adults definitely have an active vocabulary over 20k words, so you could just choose a word frequency list (there are lots that are pulled from subtitle databases) More on reddit.com

Word of the Day: Bravado | Merriam-Webster
2 days ago - Celebrities, political leaders, corporate giants, and schoolyard bullies, however, may show a different flavor of bravado: one that suggests an overbearing boldness that comes from arrogance or from being in a position of power. The word bravado originally comes from the Italian adjective bravo, meaning "wild" or "courageous," which English can also thank for the more common brave.

I have an assignment due in a week where we have to create a password file of all known dictionary words with their hash values. Now i know how to hash the words and store it. But i am having trouble in getting a list of all dictionary words.
I was thinking to implement this by having 26 files for words starting with each letter. For eg, A.txt will have all words starting with A, B.txt will have words starting with B. with one word in one line
I want to read a file with these words, run a loop through it and store its hash in a different output file. For password: <hash value for password>
Please help me get this list of words lol.
