There is a built-in solution, although is rather limited and as far as I know it can’t be inherited saved in the .kra file. You would need to save a layer with the extract color per example.

It would be nice if I can define the number of colors that are pulled from the image as well. I know I can open it next to my image and color but that is not what I am looking for, I need a proper way to setup a palette of colors extracted from images so that I can make a library of them. thanks More on krita-artists.org

Details I made a command line tool last year for extracting color palettes from images and storing them into JSON files. I recently made an update to it so I thought I should make another post here letting people know about it, since the tool was made for people that like to mod their software themes. As far as I have ever heard, this is not a feature or available auto action. What I do is upload an image that I like the color scheme of, and then go to the Filter > Mosaic function and break it up into however many blocks of color which I then pick from, or save separately for a new color palette More on reddit.com

I created a web application, getcolor.codes, to extract a color palette from an image. It's free and has no ads (so far). I'm wondering how useful it is and what advice you could give me, such as what features could be added or what needs to be fixed.

Nice site! A few suggestions: Add oklab/oklch support Add support for other colour profiles than sRGB, in particular P3 which combines well with the previous suggestion. Add support for pasting an image rather than picking a file
