Classic British stuff to watch with kids, it's all dependent on age but here's a few suggestions: Fun House, Demon Headmaster, 90s Crystal Maze, The Queens Nose, Press Gang, Gamesmaster, Jungle Run, Mike and Angelo, Rosie and Jim, Robot Wars, You Bet! (random choice I know but been rewatching it recently and some of the challenges are just so out there), Gladiators. I used to watch Shooting Stars and Red Dwarf as a kid too but that may have just been me. Answer from spudgun20 on reddit.com

2 weeks ago - The dangers are often attached to antiques, or even more abstract concepts like old nursery rhymes. As with "Doctor Who" episodes that play like ghost stories, there's usually something science-fictiony at the root of the problem, but it's not always clear, even by the end of a given story arc, exactly what transpired. Likewise, both Sapphire and Steel have extra-human abilities, but their limits remain unspecified. Many British sci-fi and fantasy shows end on what could either be called cliffhangers or outright downers — in the case of "Sapphire & Steel," the two protagonists ended the show trapped for eternity in an interdimensional roadside diner, which may have inspired a similar location in the "Sandman" comics.

No topic was considered taboo and the writers tackled such controversial topics as institutionalised racism in the police force. Not all of it has aged well, but sketches such as Gerald the Gorilla and I Like Trucking are some of the finest ever seen on British TV.

March 1, 2025 -
Hey folks,
I'm looking for some TV series made between 1970 and 1995. I don't mind the genre—it can be action, adventure, comedy, or anything really—just no romance, please.
For reference, I really enjoyed Blackadder. So, if you’ve got any recommendations for great British shows from that era, I’d love to hear them!
Thanks in advance!

The bunch simply wants to live normal teen lives, but with a country being torn apart and under Sister Michael’s unforgiving gaze, they often end up in hilarious predicaments. One of the most underrated British TV shows of all time, Derry Girls paints an interesting picture of a dark time in history.
