No. I have a paver circle that's 2 papers tall, so around 1' tall. Not only is there no fire ring, but I set it up on the grass and had it burn its own crater into the ground. It's been years and I've had parties and bonfires and even just making snores with the kids. 0 issues More on reddit.com

I'm having a fire pit made and the dimensions are 28x22x14.5 tall. He uses 1/8 a36 normally. I'm having it built to 36x28x14.5 tall. I asked about changing it to 3/16 partially due to the increased size but also so it last longer. The goal is for it to pretty much last forever down at the lake house. Is there any real practical difference between them? Will 1/8 sag under the weight of a campfire? Will it likely rust all the way through much faster than 3/16? Just wanna make one purchase if possible. Thanks!
