Think your best option is to open a FedEx account yourself. Won’t be a huge discount off retail but will probably more than make up for the UPS packaging rip off. Answer from Wraggy1974 on reddit.com

r/Flipping on Reddit: Best discount shipping label service for FedEx shipping labels?
January 5, 2024 -

Looking for something similar to Pirate Ship that offers discounted FedEx labels. I sometimes buy stuff outside my local area from places that don't offer their own shipping. I've been buying UPS labels through Pirate Ship and having them drop the stuff off at their local UPS Store and charge the packing fees to my UPS account but those stores are all franchises that set their own rates and a lot of them want to bend you over. FedEx Office stores have packing rates set by corporate based on box size so you know roughly how much you're going to be paying ahead of time.

Are there any discount label services for FedEx labels out there that don't require massive volume or subscription fees?

I don't own a printer and I use my local FedEx to print shipping labels. I use the self-service Print & Go Retrieval Code option. But instead of a peel-able/sticker shipping label a paper like a typical printed one comes out. But, once I got help from a worker b/c the machine was acting up they were able to print a sticker-like label that wasn't paper and could be peeled off and applied to a box or something. Is there an option on the machines? Thank you for your help

June 21, 2019 - I've had a previous Fedex supplies order just never shipped to me and I was never contacted. UPS supplies seem to be less hassle. ... Maybe try rolls. I think those come in lower quantities. The UPS labels are good too though. Note their rolls have the UPS logo on them. ... Yes, but... how do I order the fanfold? I got a Rollo and would love some free labels, but I ordered a roll for a Zebra or something.

r/FedEx on Reddit: I'm looking for a place to buy discounted Fedex labels
February 27, 2019 -

I recently started using my eBay account to print fedex labels due to the seemingly good discounted rates I get for bulky packages and/or packages shipped to businesses, but the labels weren't necessarily being used for the eBay transaction itself (Basically using old eBay sales to print a new label to a custom address)

Well, turns out doing that gives you "late package" defects against the seller account, so that idea is out the window. I lost my "Top Rated Seller" status because of this, even though no packages meant for the ebay buyers were -actually- late.

So I'm looking for a place that lets me purchase Fedex labels at a (deep) discount that is also preferably free (That is, no subscription fees or minimum quantity obligations). Anyone got any suggestions? I only ship like 2-5 packages/month with fedex, and the price is only a few bucks cheaper than USPS (Like $23 USPS vs $13 fedex for a slightly bulky box going to a business across the nation).

November 6, 2024 -

I have a Zebra ZP505 printer that prints off of Fed Ex ship manager, it is a 4X6 adhesive label with a perforated tab with the tracking number for my records. I used to be able to get them on fedex.com for free, then maybe a year or 2 ago they took them off the website and you have to call, last time they only sent me 2 rolls which only lasted a month. Now there is no way to get in touch with any human, the automated message tells me I can order supplies online but I have looked all over their website and they do not have them. I know they are not discontinued because I get fedex packages with this label. Uline has them for $20 per roll but that would be $40/month just for labels that I have got for free for years. I use a similar label with UPS worldship and they still have those labels on UPS.com for free. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have recommended shipping label platforms for low volume startups (<100 packages a month) that either:

Costs less than $9.00 per item to ship a <2oz, 8"x6" rigid mailer to Australia & most E.U. markets, DDU

OR:

Does not require a subscription model to import custom negotiated rates with your carriers?

If you’re a low-volume startup under about 100 shipments per month and want cheaper international costs or no subscription just to use negotiated rates, here’s how a few shipping label platforms stack up. 📦 Rollo Ship, a strong no-subscription choice Why it’s good for you No monthly fees. You do not need a subscription to unlock USPS or UPS commercial rates. First 200 labels are free. After that, there is a $0.05 per label fee plus postage. USPS and UPS negotiated rates are built in from day one. No carrier contracts required. Works with Shopify, Etsy, and other platforms. Potential drawbacks It is pay per label, so you do not get tiered volume discounts like some subscription tools might offer at higher volumes. You still pay the actual carrier postage. That is standard across all shipping tools. For low volume shipments where you want flexible pricing plus no subscription, Rollo Ship’s model is very attractive and often cheaper than platforms that lock you into a monthly plan. 🚢 Pirate Ship, completely free platform No subscription. No per label fees. You only pay postage. Strong USPS and UPS discounts for domestic shipping. Great if you mainly ship USPS or UPS and want the lowest cost without contracts. Limitations Fewer carrier options. No DHL and limited FedEx support. International rate discounts can vary. 🚚 Shippo, multi carrier option Free starter plan and you only pay for labels you ship. Supports many carriers including USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Good integrations and tracking tools. Trade offs Typically a $0.05 per label fee on the free plan. You may need a paid tier if you want advanced features. My recommendation If your main concerns are no subscription and access to negotiated carrier rates, and you are shipping low volume, Rollo Ship is a strong fit because it offers: No subscription or contract Built in USPS and UPS commercial rates Predictable pay as you go pricing It works especially well if you want a simple dashboard and do not want to commit to a monthly plan just to access better rates.

r/ecommerce on Reddit: For those who ship via FedEx, do you prefer creating labels using the FedEx website or the FedEx Ship Manager app? Which is more useful?
October 27, 2020 -

I regularly ship out products from my small business using FedEx Ground. I used to use the FedEx website for entering and processing these shipments, but once I got a Zebra label printer, it worked better to use the stand-along FedEx Ship Manager software that you can install on Windows computers.

However, after using the software for a few months, I've found it to really be lacking. For instance, I can't save the info from frequently sent packages as a Shipment Profile (which saves the weight, dimensions, insurance amt., etc., for a particular shipment for reuse later) in the software, like you can on FedEx's website.

For those who have used both the website and the stand alone software, which do you prefer and which is more powerful and can do more things?

I have called the 800 number a couple of times to ask about this, and was told it was not possible. I can't be 100% sure they really understood what I was trying to do, but I would really be surprised if this was truly impossible.

I need a friend to overnight me a couple of packages while I am out of town... same address, same weight, same sized padded envelope. To make it easier on her, I would like to pre-purchase a few boxes & generate labels (all to the same address, using my Fedex account) so all she has to do is fill up the box, close it with tape, and drop it in the pickup box. Even if she has to give it to an employee at the store when ready to ship, Is there really no way to accomplish this?

I work with a client that has to FedEx me documents on a regular basis. Generally, what I do is generate a label for them online, email them the PDF and they print it. However, what I’d prefer to do is mail them a dozen or so printed labels (on sticker labels) and just have them use those as needed. But I noticed that you can only create labels for shipments a few weeks out.

Basically I’d like to give them a year supply of physical labels at once. is there a way to do this?
