VS Code is the go-to in my experience (as a professional developer for 6 years) If you’re looking for a full scale IDE you pay for Jetbrains offers a bunch of different ones and I’ve seen people use it at work too, but unless you’re doing Java or Ruby in an environment with a bunch of other people using it too and helping you learn the IDE the features can be difficult to grok (fully comprehend) and therefore go unused anyway. VS Code is super well supported in web development, produced by Microsoft, and had a ton of plugins to get you basically to the same spot you’d get for a paid app (from Jetbrains). You gotta spend time adding the add ons and finding them in the first place… but free and widely supported is difficult to beat. More on reddit.com
