I have been trying to shop around, but it seems like the most popular one doesn't work on mac, and I'm worried about not being able to effectively back up my data with some of the options I've seen.
My situation is that I'm writing ethnographic fieldnotes, so I want to have the ability to make discrete entries, but ideally also the option to code them.
I am also open to suggestions for free software/websites that would be useful for essentially making diary entries, which can easily be flipped through, and later inputted into maxqda when I eventually shell out for a license.
I may just end up using google docs, but it's very frustrating that my university doesn't provide licenses for this stuff. If you have any advice on how to get my university to pay for it that's also helpful!
Looking to analyze 100 interviews. I know I need a software to organize all this information. I am not with a University but this is a very dense project... Any folks have recommendations? I don't think my boss wants to pay more than $50 for two people a month
I am looking to be able to collaborate with another person to both analyze the codes as well.

hello, everybody!
I am looking for the best option for data compiling on my PhD thesis. My uni is holding a training on MAXQDA and it looks like a user and budget friendly software. Some reddit posts I've seen suggested Nvivo as well. I've seen some others, like atlas.ti and endnote and I wonder which one is the best.
Looking for: discourse analysis and qualitative analysis, mostly.
Hi there,
I'm currently doing my dissertation and am running 4 focus groups as part of my research. Just wondering what free qualitative analysis software you'd recommend? Also if there's an easier way to do transcribing, I'm currently using Google speech to text and repeating what is said while listening.
In terms of the research type I'm using template analysis (thematic)
Thank you!
Any alternative for MAXQDA will be apprieciated.
Is there any tool that scientists without programming skills can use for qualitative data analysis of larger datasets (e.g. computer assisted thematic coding) leveraging retrieval augmented generative AI?
Issue is, I myself know how to program this in code, but I am working with colleagues who have no programming skills at all, and I would like to empower them so they can analyze their data without my help.
Hi! Please suggest softwares that can analyze data in Qualitative research. Those that can do narrative analysis, thematic analysis, category construction. Thanks!
Hi folks!
What are your recommendations for qualitative analysis software? I’ve heard good things about Nvivo and MAXQDA. If there is an open source version, that would be ideal, but I’m open to suggestions!
Hi!
I'm hoping to get my team to incorporate some qualitative coding/content analysis with our all-hands thematic analysis. My thinking is that using a software to help us code systematically across all data will minimize bias and help validate our insights. 1) what software do you use, if at all? I'm familiar with ATLAS.ti but was wondering if there is an industry-preferred option. But also, I've run into a bit of resistance from the other (junior) researcher on staff about incorporating such software. 2) If you do not use a software, what are your reasons for going 'analog' or what are your opinions against such software?
Thanks again! :)
Does anyone have any thoughts between NVIVO, Tableau, and MAXQDA? I need it to do thematic analysis on some interviews/transcripts.
I am at a point in my research for my masters diss where I need to collate and code a couple hundred tweets. I know that MAXQDA used to have a function where you could import directly from twitter but this doesn't function anymore. Does anyone know of a similar software that has this function that currently works?
Tweets would be from all public and verified accounts and would stretch back to jan 2024.

Good afternoon,
I never used softwares qualitative data analysis, and now i'm studying in a master program sociology.
What is the purpose for those programs? :/
Can suggest some softwares free or who has free trail for more 30 days?
Does any one know any open source softwares for qualitative analysis?
