Let me just make one thing clear people who say Sora is worse then the others are delusional. I tried them all. and all my friends say the same thing and they said what a massive improvement it’s over the others. Let me tell you something about human psychology. If people can’t pay for it they just say it’s worse no matter what.
Videos
Never done one, would like to start. Preferably without an ugly watermark.
Due to there being no access in Germany I only had the chance to have a look at posted videos and featured videos on the homepage.
With a closer look, these videos do have the same problem as any other AI generated video.
Waves looking like fixed snowy mountains, movement of legs (animals and humans) is inconsistent, things or people being extra large or extra small and the most annying part, no consitency in characters. People have short hair in one shot, then long hair in another shot, dressing differntly, suddendly having a purse....
AI videos are mostly gag material for now or inspiration for video artists.
It is a nice thing to have, but with a 200$ price point for longer and more quality videos I was expecting it to be something you can use professional.
Tell me your thoughts!
I'm looking for an AI video tool to create promo videos for events (basically a large group of people having fun within a certain theme). They don't have to look 100% realistic, just not missing fingers and things like that. Is Sora the best tool for this? I know there are a bunch of AI tools out there now. I already pay for ChatGPT so figured Sora would be a logical starting place, but perhaps there is a better tool suited for what I'm trying to do. TIA!
Wow, the new Sora app is pretty great. I was able to create 20 short videos with very simple prompts and created this compilation showing off how it generates videos using physics and testing out the Cameo feature.
This is super fun. I think this is better than Veo videos on day one. I think this social network is going to work. I will work on a Sora 2 prompting tips to post but here are a few nuggets.
- Be descriptive in the prompt of the scene that you want and give details.
- It has great prompt adherence when you type in "quotes" what you want each character to say
- For several of the clips I let Sora suggest the dialogue and it did a really good job making it up.
- Many of the clips that I created I was able to get what I wanted with just one generation. In Veo I often had to do 4-5 attempts to get something usable.
- It is also a lot cheaper than Veo. You don't have to be on the $200 plan and you can generate up to 50 videos a day.
- I like that when you create a Cameo to insert yourself into videos you can control who else can put you into videos.
- Sam Altman must be the most popular meme in the world now since anyone can put him into videos.
This is definitely going to be much bigger than people generating a billion of the ChatGPT 4o images.
Let's melt the data centers and have some fun!

More prompting tips for Sora 2 to follow!
First off, I have extensive experience working with LLMS.
I am trying to create art with Sora image to video generation, and I have found it very disappointing. It just doesn't seem to follow directions AT ALL.
It will not follow simple directions like:
-This scene is one shot, the camera does not move.
-Do not alter the artistic style of the image.
-The leaves are rustling in the wind (or any simple descriptor).
I have tried the remix feature, tried to generate many videos with slightly different prompts, and overall - I don't see how Sora can actually be used by an artist.
Anyone who has had more success with it - please share your wisdom.
I recently gave Sora a shot to create an AI-generated video, and it was a lot simpler than I expected. If you’re thinking about trying it out, here’s a quick rundown of the process and some tips that might help:
-
User-Friendly Setup: The platform walks you through uploading your script or key points, choosing a template, and customizing visuals. It’s straightforward, so you don’t need a ton of experience to get started.
-
Customization Options: You can tweak everything from text and colors to transitions and voiceovers. It’s nice to have that control without feeling overwhelmed by too many options.
-
Quick Results: Once everything’s set, Sora generates the video in just a few minutes. You can review and adjust before finalizing, which makes it easy to get the result you want.
The article I wrote breaks it all down step by step, but honestly, it’s approachable even if you’re not super tech-savvy.
What’s Your Take? Have you tried making videos with tools like this? I’d love to hear about your experience or any tricks you’ve picked up along the way.

Ive been thinking about buying a KlingAI sub but Ive been impressed with what Ive seen and heard from SORA. Any advice?
We're exploring use-cases with video generation models (not synthesia), and I'm curious if y'all have used these in your eLearning? It seems like the best use-case right now is turning a static image into a short video/gif to make it a bit more interesting/visually engaging.
Any other useful/meaningful use cases we're missing?
In this tutorial, you will learn how to use OpenAI’s powerful Sora video generator through Microsoft’s Bing mobile app to create professional-quality videos — instantly and without any cost.
Create AI videos for freeStep-by-step:
-
Download the Microsoft Bing app and select the mini-apps icon in the bottom right corner.
-
Access the “Video Creator” feature from the available mini-apps
-
Write a detailed prompt describing your desired video scene
-
Generate your 5-second, 9:16 format video and download via the three dots menu
Pro tip: Create multiple variations of the same concept by slightly adjusting your prompts.
My main driving point with this news is to discuss the impact. I see so many small enterprises/startups will struggle to match up to this in future as AI gets bigger and better, unless they adapt quickly and actually stay ahead of it.
Sora can actually generate 60 seconds video based on the prompt provided. I've been creating motion video clips of 4-6 seconds and clipping them together , then adding music and dialogue on top via editing software to create small videos. However with this new model, movie making (especially for youtubers, small scale videographers) is going to be exciting.
An evil side would be to discern the reality from fiction. I can already see opinions will be based on fake video since so many are gullible and not willing to go over 10 secs to determine whether a video is real or fake.
Let's see where this world is heading with 3rd decade of this century to be very defining of our future.
I just shipped an unlimited AI video generator powered by Sora 2. No paywalls, no tokens. Just type your idea and get cinematic video results in seconds.
It’s running on top of Sora 2 API endpoint, so you can generate videos with no watermark directly.
I’d love feedback on the generation quality, latency, and UX, especially from anyone working with video or creative automation tools.
This is depressing stuff.
