That’s the lowest price tier from Google. And remember it’s not just email… it’s also groupware, file storage, video meetings, chat, etc. Microsoft has similar pricing, but you can get a cheaper email plan from other folks such as Zoho More on reddit.com

I wrote a polite note to G Suite support asking them to reconsider for individuals and families (edit: a support representative wrote back and pointed me to https://support.google.com/a/answer/6284762?hl=en go to https://admin.google.com/ and click the question mark icon in the navigation bar and open a web ticket). By definition, everyone affected by this sunsetting has used G Suite for nearly 10 years. That's 10 years of time to use your email and Google Voice number to sign up everywhere, not to mention building out your calendar, contacts, and Drive files, some of which we "may" get to keep. Like you I am open to options. Maybe we pay something like $1/mo similar to iCloud+. Or the Google Admin interface goes away to nudge business users to the business plans. Or the number of free users is reduced to a small number. Or as someone else suggested, if we could convert G Suite accounts to Google One accounts with custom domains that would work. Most of us just want a consumer Gmail account with a custom domain after all. Thankfully I have very few files in Drive and Photos and no calendar events but it is still painful to figure out what to do with Gmail. iCloud+ looks appealing if it meets your needs. I imagine it is a much tougher migration for Android users entrenched in the Google ecosystem, which doesn't feel right. More on reddit.com
