Can any of you guys with buds 3 pro tell me how's your battery life? Cuz mine got to 50% (with ANC) just after 1h30mins. Just want to know if mine are the only ones with this problem.
Videos
soundguys got only 4.5 hours, I wanted to get them but I want the advertised 6 hours, what do you guys get on anc/ambianr
I wear earbuds every single day during work. I put them in at 7:00 a.m. everyday. Today was the first day for the buds 3 pro. The battery died at 1:00 p.m. and that's without ANC and low volume.
The best earbuds Samsung has ever made are the Galaxy buds Plus. With those I can put them in at 7:00 a.m. and they normally last till 5:00 p.m. everyday.
Hey guys, ever since the release of the new earbuds Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. I've seen posts that the battery drains quite fast than prev gen. I also see that one of the earbuds drain much faster than the other. Anyone experienced a decline in battery life?
I've only been getting 5-6 hours of battery life with my galaxy buds 3 pro. Is that pretty typical? I'm deciding on whether or not to buy another pair from Samsung directly as the pair i have currently are from ebay.
Thanks!
Yup that's what I'm getting too
It's weird Samsung didn't display info on the box like their other older buds.
But Samsung states 7 hours of use with no anc. And 6 hours with ANC. But those claims are in a controlled state.
But yes, I get around 5-6 hours of ANC use. Those blade lights sure took up some precious battery space
I can't get more than a couple uses our of these before I have to charge the case again. Why is the battery life so bad? Can someone help me?
It is advertised as ''up to 6h30m'' with anc off. Well I just used them for about 13 minutes of listening to music and it went from 100% to 95% with anc off. It was connected to my windows pc and volume level was set to 77 and the volume level on spotify app was at about 85/90.
Other settings that are turned on are: Voice Commands (although I don't use them) and Bass Boost is selected in the EQ settings and Adjust Sound to Fit. According to my calculations the buds 3 would last about 4 hours and 20 minutes if I were to listen to music without taking a break. Is this normal? If so, how can I improve it. I've read that turning off voice commands could help, might have to try that. Thanks
I see pro and cons about the buds. What is the battery life? Is it better than buds2 pro? TIA
I’ve been using the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro for a few days now and I’m noticing something strange. With Active Noise Cancellation turned off, I’m only getting around 2 to 3 hours of playback time. That’s way below the advertised 7 hours without ANC.
I don’t listen at full volume, and I’ve already turned off extra features like ambient sound and voice detection. Still, the battery drains fast. Firmware is up to date and I'm using the official case to charge them.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Could this be a defective unit or is this just how they perform in real-world use? Any suggestions or similar experiences would be helpful.
I can't really tell if my buds are having a battery issue or not. It seems like they go dead pretty quickly, although I haven't timed it yet so maybe I'm just overreacting. I got the July batch, so I'm slightly worried about having issues and I'm trying to make sure that I don't have any before my return date expires. Everything seems to work fine so far. No ripping ear tips, no sound problems, etc. Just seems like the battery goes dead kind of fast.
Here's my S/N:

UPDATE: After 1 hour of listening to music on Ambient Sound mode, my battery for my buds have went from 100% to 80%.
2nd UPDATE: After 1 hour and 30 minutes, battery is now down to 72%
I am seeing people get about 5 hrs of playtime even with ANC and other features. Mine im getting about 3.5 to 4 hrs.
It even consumes (5% in 15 minutes) even if i turn off everything and just play music with 50% volume.
I'm really not sure if mine is defective. Some people says this is normal but checking with other people review and feedback they easily says 5 hrs with ANC on
What do you guys think?
I found that the ANC battery life is highly dependent on the environment that you're using them in.
In an office setting, where it's blocking out relatively low noise, I'll easily get 5 hrs.
I've used them during indoor sporting events where they were clearly working at max capacity, and have gotten more like 3.5hrs in those situations.
I've yet to use them on a plane, but my gut says I'll get around 4hrs in that environment.
Personally this is not something i usually focus on, but I can use mine for like 3 on calls and it would reach like about 60% which is not bad. I mainly use mind when I'm commuting so I don't use it till the battery drains. The only time these buds seen 20% is when I got them. The lowest I used them for was maybe 50%. Again I don't really check. I previously had the Buds Pro for about two years and battery was never once an issue, so I'm not worried about this newer model. The one time I almost had an issue with the Buds Pro was when I was sitting in the hot sun and the right side started beeping like crazy, I figured immediately it was overheating. So because of the knowledge, if I'm walking in the sun I tend to block my Buds 3 Pro with my hand from the side the sun is hitting it on
I had a post about a day ago complaining about the volume and now I have another issue.
I just got it 3 days ago and the battery life is honestly worse than my 5 year old buds live.
From 88% to 70% in just 45 minutes or use with anc. Half of that time I didnt have anything playing.
So far I am having issues with software, voice detection just detects my voice and then when I stop talking, it never returns back to normal. Furthermore, 360 audio doesn't work, on or off it sounds exactly the same, adaptive NC doesn't work, it's just ambient sound. The different sound when anc is on vs off. The ear tips are terrible, painful, and are horrible quality.
Honestly I don't know what to do at the moment.
How much battery life does everyone get from the new Galaxy buds 3 pros? I feel like they don't last all day unlike the buds 2.
Using Buds3 (non pro) I'm getting ~6 hours of battery life, which is right around advertised. How long are yours lasting?
I got the buds3 (non pro) I get around 6 hours. With ANC on its closer to 5. So it's spot on for me.
Yea that sounds really short. Try get a full battery and play music without anc and nothing extra turned on.
If it still gets you only 3 hours there's definitely something wrong.
Is it just me or is the battery on the case not good? It drains fast and doesn't give multiple charges after single charge.
Got mine on the 17th, no issues with tips or quality so far.
I saw they were on sale on Amazon so i bought them. However i believe mine to be defective. The case seems to have a really low battery capacity. Starting from the case and earbuds at 100% charge, after less than 10 hours of playtime the case dies. (ANC on) However i know it's not the ANC because whenever i check the earbuds they never dropped below 40%. So maybe like 200% battery has been used but it's advertised that its supposed to have enough for atleast 4 full charges, so like 400-500% battery. Is it false advertising or did i just get defective buds? I even reset them and updated them and the problem persists.
Is this what everyone else gets? After three hours I get a 15% battery warning. This seems very low. Is that what you all are experiencing too?
Being a S21 FE user and coming from Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, I upgraded my earbuds after my Galaxy Buds 2 Pro lost their noise-cancelling and microphone quality because they were directly sprayed with water. This shouldn't happen as I have been cleaning it for 2 years in this way, and things were fine. Having tested and not being convinced by the microphone quality of Sony WF-1000XM5 and not superior noise cancelling quality as it is widely advertised, I forgot the incredible multi-point connection features and bought Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. In this review, you are going to read about my user experience after two weeks of purchase.
Design
The design has changed. I loved the bean shape of GB 2 Pro, but after one day of use, I got pretty comfortable with the AirPods 2 Pro-inspired design. Speaking of which, my take is that we cannot call any stem design earbuds an AirPods copycat, but everyone will compare Samsung and Apple devices in every single term. I like the Cybertruck design. The silver color is cool, the flashy blades are exciting, though not so functional. The case experienced an even bigger change. I feel the materials and build are more similar to Galaxy Buds 2, which I still have and they are solidly durable. On the other hand, the new flagship earbuds have lost some luxurious feeling of soft touch materials and the satisfying closing sound of GB2 Pro which is less durable and prone to scratches compared to its more affordable siblings or the GB 3 Pro. Anyway, the main point you wanna know is about the fit and comfort, and I am going to tell you that THEY ARE GREAT. The earbuds themselves are strongly built. The eartip mechanism has been fundamentally changed, and they are way stronger than before. It might have helped them to stay better in your ear, but the user must be extra careful to change the tips, as they are not easy to replace. I learned new things about the single LED as a charging indicator: when you open the lid, the case shows its charging level, and when you put the buds in it, it shows the earbuds' charging level. So, no dedicated charging indicator like before, and I prefer checking the widget for an accurate charging level.
Gestures:
I never thought that GB2 Pro gestures were poor, except volume control. Don't get me wrong. GB3 Pro's gestures are excellent. The pinch mechanism works fine, and you get used to the volume control through swiping the stems easily. The volume control is much better than the previous generation of earbuds. When you take the buds out of your ear, the music pauses, and by wearing them, the music restarts.
Sound Quality
Much more exciting than the Sony WF-1000XM5. The sound is loud, detailed, and bass-heavy. The EQ controls are significantly better and effective. The time you change EQ for your favorite music and podcast, the quality change is noticeable. I recommend using bass boost and dynamic for your pop-rap-metal listening, and the clear setting for your classical music and podcast. The star of the show is in the movies. I watched The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in 4K HDR, and found the sound as immersive, detailed, loud, with quite pleasing head tracking.
ANC
It blocks 85-90% of subway, old engines, peoples crowd. Yes, the ANC is better than GB 2 Pro, and very similar to XM5. The adaptive feature works fine and block Air Conditioner’s noise when you get close to them, Im happy with the ANC. Call Quality It beats the Sony, Period. I see it on par with Airpods 2 pro, so don’t expect it to be flawless in very noisy environments but works great overall.
Battery life
I was happy with the 5 hours ANC on battery life of buds 2 pro, which degraded to 4 hours after 2 years, and 3 times of charging with the case. Samsung says the battery life is improved, but I haven’t seen much of a difference. I’m ok with the numbers, so no complaints here.
Application
Sony has a better app, its more feature rich. Galaxy Wear. Unfortunately, some features work with S23 and above, so I cant fully comment on the app. One notable change is that the new buds pair faster to my phone compared to Galaxy Buds 2 pro.
Do I recommend Galaxy Buds 3 Pro over Sony WF-1000XM5?
Yes I do, if you can leave the multi-point connections behind. The sound profile is more pleasing, its cheaper, and the call quality is vastly superior. They sound best with a Samsung phone, though.
Thank you for your time. I will be happy to answer the questions.
I'll be linking the Spotify playlist I'm using to test these Buds. Although, I really advice you to try new headphones with songs YOU KNOW WELL because you'll know what to expect.
I know I'm late to the party, which is why we'll jump right into it.
I won't be over the technical details because you can just look up the specifications and see for yourself.
I bought the buds myself, paid $135 USD for them.
With every year comes a new version of the Galaxy Buds. This time, we have a rather different and striking new design for the Galaxy Buds3 Pro. With its third iteration, we now see improvements in some areas I consider important. Now yes I do think these are Airpods clones. They don't feel cheap and the blade lights are enough to tell them appart though, but you can CLEARLY see the inspo samsung took to make these. Although Apple doesn't own the stem design. Yes I wanted the Grey ones but weren't available.
First of all, sound quality. Noticeable to some, gimmicky to others, I think I can notice a difference compared to older Galaxy Buds models. It uses a proprietary codec to achieve this, so you won't take advantage of it if you're using anything other than a Samsung phone to stream your music. I think that, after trying every Buds Pro released to date, I can say these sound better than the rest, exclusively in terms of sound quality. It has a higher volume too, and I don't think it loses too much quality when you turn it up high.
In terms of sound profile (you can see the charts and comparisons below), it is much more of a V shape than previous Galaxy Buds. Some people like more bass in their earbuds; I like just enough. And while it does sound bassier than the previous generation, the new ones are pretty good sounding. The decision to boost both bass and treble makes for a more interesting listening experience, and one ME MYSELF AND I prefer over the Buds2 Pro which in my opinion, those were too shouty and overall appeared to have very poor build quality—like Buds 2, rebranded.
Now, I'm not an audio engineer, so I will leave it like that. But I will say the sound profile is more appealing to me, despite being so far from the Harman target, which, by the way, is owned by Samsung.
In terms of build quality, they feel exactly like AirPods. Better, in my opinion, than the Buds2 Pro. The case quality is also great. The hinge is made of metal, probably aluminum or stainless steel, and it feels nice. The top is probably going to get scratched over time; get a case for that, though.
I must say my unit was manufactured in November, so most quality control issues are gone in my experience. I've had no issue changing the tips (which are actually difficult to change; they're firmly secured to the buds, so I understand why some people might have had problems swapping them), and I'm using the large ones, as my ears are a bit big.
Regarding controls and accessibility, I think it took me a couple of hours to get used to the controls, but I think they are far better than previous generations and solve problems like volume control. Just sliding up or down to adjust the volume is amazingly easy and intuitive. Pinches feel as if the earbud is flexible and you are pinching something like a straw, but it isn't. Hard to explain; I can only say controlling these buds is much better than previous Pros. As for the voice commands, they're amazing. You actually feel like a power user saying "Pause Music" or "Next song". Just don't do this in public please, people will think you're crazy! Some have shown concerns that people talking around might trigger this function, however only lenguages supported are english and korean so you should be safe. At least I know I am in a spanish speaking country. And if you're in an english speaking country, you can try learning korean to be even more obnoxious!
As for the battery, I really like it. Granted, turning on the blade lights (what a cool name, BTW) drains it quite fast. But I would only use these at concerts or parties with high volume, as a way of protecting my ears and showing off. Back on topic, I can easily get more than 6 hours with ANC on in the high setting. With ANC off, I honestly get tired of using them before the battery runs out. The case lasts long too, although I feel it lasts a bit shorter than the original Buds Pro. I don't know, though; it could be just my impression.
As for comfort, every ear is different. I honestly couldn't say. You'll need to try them and test them to see if you can handle them. They fit really well in my ears; I don't have any problems with them. But then again, that is my case. I've heard some people say these are the first earbuds they can sleep with, and others say they can't stand more than 30 minutes with them. So flip a coin, toss a dice, take a chance—see if the fit is right for you. I can tell you it's right for me, and I'm very happy with them.
Mic quality is really good. I've called a couple of times with the buds on and off, and some people tell me it sounds better with my Buds 3 Pros. So I'm happy with them. This is due to the stem design; its proximity to your mouth makes it more capable of registering your voice.
I want to tell you something; I've tried the interpreter function, and it's amazing. I'm bilingual, and I tried having a conversation with myself and loved it. In a controlled setting, with no noise, I was able to understand myself, checking that the translator registered accurately, and I was truly surprised. You can actually translate a conversation in real time with great results. I want to take this to Japan or Korea to try it out.
Should you upgrade if you have the Buds 2 Pro? I'd say yes because I didn't like the sound profile of them. But some people love them. Crinacle does too for example.
Should you get them? If you find them on a deal (samsung usually does those, with trade in bonuses too) and own a Galaxy phone, sure.
Am I happy with them, knowing I own every pair of Pros Samsung released so far? Yes.
I think that's all I want to say about this, and I'm curious to hear what you say. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! I will try to answer them all. :)
