Buying the Pixel 5a from Amazon vs Google
i mostly buy on amazon for peace of mind. sometimes google sends my packages through dhl or other weird carriers and it's a little stressful because the packages will get here at like midnight and get thrown over my fence. but it should be fine either way
More on reddit.comI WON! Pixel 5A had black screen issue, Google refused to honor warranty after uBreakIFix couldn't repair the device after 3 attempts. It would continually display "Radio Off" and the phone wouldn't make calls - I wrote a letter to Investor Relations and Tweeted @MadeByGoogle with 0 followers

I am in need of a new phone soon since AT&T decided that my POCOPHONE F1 is no longer worth supporting. Currently I use my old Galaxy S6 as a hotspot now and my poco f1 for all the other stuff.
I am thinking of buying the Pixel 5a (preferably unlocked) as my next phone, However, I have heard alot of stories from this subreddit about the customer support being poor, and reading comments from a recent post suggest to buy from Amazon instead since they offer better service.
I don't know if this is relevant but I also tend to travel alot, so I am usually in the US but not always. Should I buy from Amazon with a protection plan or from the Google Store with the Preferred Care package? Should I also get the Global version or the US version?

I recommend getting from Google. You get certain advantage if you buy from Google for example if you have issue with your phone Google will send you a replacement phone first and then ask you to return the old phone later once you receive the new phone
If you don't buy from Google they ask you to return phone first and will only send a new one once the old is received
