Hi everyone! I’ve been invited to a Harry Potter-themed party and I’d love to dress up, but I’m on a really tight budget. I was wondering if anyone has any creative, low-cost costume ideas that still look good or recognizable?
I’m open to dressing as any character (student, professor, creature, etc.) whatever can be put together with simple clothes or DIY accessorie.
If it helps, I’m a guy in my thirties with long hair. Any ideas, tips, or photos for inspiration would be super appreciated. Thanks in advance, fellow witches and wizards! 🧙♂️✨
Hi everyone,
I’m a dad of three little Potterheads, and there’s nothing I love more than surprising my kids and making them laugh. This year I want to go all out with a Harry Potter–themed costume, but I’d like to do something unexpected and fun — not just a wizard robe.
I even thought about dressing up as the Philosopher’s Stone itself just to make them giggle, but I’m open to any wild and creative ideas. Something that would make them first laugh, then feel super proud that their dad went the extra mile.
I’m not the most skilled costume maker, but I’m definitely willing to put in the hours to pull something off.
What would you suggest as a surprising Harry Potter costume that could amaze (and amuse) kids?
Merci beaucoup !
It took me two weeks to craft Moody's eye in my spare time - made from genuine leather, brass parts and a glass doll eye. The staff was made from a drift piece of wood and a goat skull replica. My heart couldn't let me make my daughter cry just for the Mandrake effect - I might regret it in the future 🤔
