The most you can do is relieve symptoms and inflammation by getting , getting fit, sleeping 8 hours, eating well and manage stress so it doesn't affect you heavily. My husband has Hashimoto Disease. He takes his Synthroid daily, the dosage is changed as much as 3 times a year sometimes. Things to watch out for are high cholesterol and celiac disease, as both are more common than average in people with Hashimoto. Other than that, hasn't really been a big life affecting thing. He doesn't do any particular diet right now, but feels better when he is gluten free (blood test for celiac indicated the need for further testing which he doesn't want to do at this juncture when the diet helps). Since Hashimoto is auto-immune, reducing whole body inflammation is probably a good thing as a general health goal. We try to make sure we eat a good balance of anti-inflammatory foods , which are generally some really obviously healthy choices. All of that said, we eat for health and the medical science doesn't show that diet will cure Hashimoto so we aren't looking for that. More on reddit.com
