The Canadian store that’s called Home Goods south of the border? They carry a mix of sheets- you have to dig through them to find some scores. Most of the $30-40 price point sheets are going to be polyester or microfiber- regardless of the brand. You occasionally see sheets in the $50-100 range that are worth feeling- look for ones made in Italy or Portugal (these will almost always be only white and come in wide flat packs. Sheets that say Pima or Egyptian cotton (long staple). Thread count isn’t as important to look at because you’ll find some amazing percale sheets in the 300 TC range vs crappy 1000TC sateen ones. Brands run the gamut- and you really need to feel the sheets. One color might be soft and the other in the same brand rough. I saw Kathy Ireland sheets at mine the other day and the blue sheets felt lovely, but every other color they came in were not as nice. Ralph Lauren is usually their lowest end- they are ok. Typically get softer with use. I’ve bought these for my kids and they’re fine. They are just not the sheet snobs I am. Calvin Klein- completely hit or miss. I bought a dark brown pair that rivaled my nicest sheets in feel. Got my other kiddo the same thing a couple years later in grey and I wasn’t impressed. If you see bed company sheets - Casper, Tempurpedic, Sleep Number, etc those are usually decent and hard to find. They don’t get many- so grab them when you can. They won’t be there when you go back., The Made in Italy or Portugal bedding is usually good to very good. Especially if you like a classic hotel feel to your sheets. Right now the stores have a considerable amount of sheets from the UK for some reason- William Morris, etc. these seem a little rougher than I prefer. You will see the odd pair of sheets that claim to be bamboo. I feel these are largely mislabeled and not real bamboo. They feel plasticy to me. More on reddit.com
