So apparently pirateship can sell UPS shipping to people for less that what UPS stores can get it directly from UPS. What gives? Why does a 3rd party get significantly better deals on pricing than UPS? How has this not blown up into a massive class action lawsuit with all the UPS stores against UPS?

It’s completely true and complete bullshit. We’ve discussed this many times at area meetings and it’s something they’re “looking at” correcting but they don’t really care. Honestly WE are the FACE of UPS and should be the ones offered the best rates. Pirate ship doesn’t pay any fucking royalty or branding fees.

Just wondering if anybody has used this yet? Notice the rates are better than ebay is showing. 3-4lb to zone 8 is $13.56 compared to $17.74. Box is 12x12x11. Even closer zones are cheaper.
PS customer service assures me these rates are not promotional and I can use them without fear of a sudden price increase. Planning on redoing all my shipping rate tables if this works out.

Beyond easy integration, there are lots of reasons to use Pirate Ship. PS uses " Cubic Priority " so if you have smaller packages you can get better rates on priority. PS Insurance is better. No fighting to get claims covered. PS Customer service is better. They actually answer, and it is fun as they stick with the pirate theme. PS is a great backup even if you still use eBay labels. When eBay fails, PS still works. EBay claimed a book I was sending this morning didn't qualify for media mail (it did, I follow the rules) so I sent it via PS. You can ship international using your thermal printer. No having to print sheets of paper. ALSO Contact PS customer service and ask them for the "simple export rate" to get even better rates on international. If you use a points credit card, attach it to PS and earn points.

I don't understand why any serious/fulltime sellers still use eBay labels. Especially with them now working with UPS. Pirateship integrates well with eBay and they have better customer service. Like with USPS Express which is, pretty much the only USPS service that I use anymore. A quick chat with a Pirateship rep and you're instantly credited for late deliveries (full refund). You can't do that with eBay. I've been doing UPS under my own account since the postal delays began. I'll have to give their UPS rates a look. Maybe with their massive buying power, they'll be cheaper. Good Posting!

Does anyone use UPS to ship instead of going through an intermediary such as ebay/etsy or pirateship/ship station?
I've been using pirateship for over a year, but I just got offered "E-commerce Advantage" by UPS. it seems to be about 3% less expensive than pirateship, and possibly a bigger savings on addresses that would typically have a "delivery area surcharge".
While lower cost is good, I'm curious about ease of use and any other issues people may have encountered.
(I generally use UPS for large boxes 28x18x8)

yeah I very extensively explored this the shipping rates were identical the distinction was in the UI. Pirate Ship has really stellar UI that offers you labels from all its available carriers, ranked by price. Neither WorldShip nor any of their integrateable third party programs offers this feature. Not to mention PirateShip's machine learning that predicts your box size and weight I found no reason whatsoever to leave PirateShip, its service absolutely slaps (50 orders a week in large boxes, for context on me) let me know if you have more questions, I'm happy to discuss further

I've wondered this too. I use Pirateship for my personal business. The company I work for has a UPS account and it seems to give you better prices on shipping overnight-2day shipping with the UPS S/M/L Boxes/Paks. Anything we have shipped with "personal packaging" or ground is easily comparable to pirate ship if not more expensive. However, we overnight 13" x 11" x 2" for like 15 bucks which I would say would be worth it if that is up your alley.
