To use Tap to Cash, select your Apple Cash card in the Wallet app. Tap “Send or Request” then Tap to Cash. Authorize your payment with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode, then hold your device near someone else’s.

When you have Manually Accept Payments enabled, to receive money sent to you, open the Messages conversation where you received the payment, tap Accept, and then follow the onscreen instructions. You have 7 days to accept the payment. When you change the method of accepting payments, it updates on all your devices. If someone sends you money in Messages and you don't have Apple Cash set up, you'll see Accept in the message.

If your Apple Cash balance isn’t enough, Apple Pay will prompt you to select a different card from your Wallet. Follow the steps in Messages or Wallet and choose the card you want to use when prompted. Now you know how to pay someone with Apple Pay.

The person receiving the transfer needs to have Apple Cash setup and will need to manually accept the funds. Depending on the amount transferred they may be required to verify their identity. Be sure you know the person. This is effectively handing someone cash.
